Italy is a shite show. 200 dying per day. That’s the equivalent of 1000 Americans if it got that bad here.

Here in Germany they say were about ten days behind Italy and predict an infection rate of 60%-70%. All sports, fests and MWR events have been canceled. Rationing implemented for certain cleaning and hygiene products on the installations. The Garrison has closed schools in solidarity with the local government, and are hoping to implement a distance learning schedule. Sec of Defense has ordered no traveling or flights for all DOD federal employees, except mission critical. Our Command is trying to plan for the possibility of implementing a "from home work" schedule if told it is neccessary. We're supposed to keep a 6ft distance between people. For some reason Germany hasn't suspended travel not even from China or Italy that I am aware of. I am not a federal employee anymore and I am now just a contractor so if shite gets wierd it may get interesting for me. I will try to let y'all know if things start getting crazy. I hope all is well back home in Arkansas.

Math says US is 11 days behind Italy. Time will tell. As for Fayetteville, NO DOUBT it is here. Just not official yet.

Our Garrison Commander just informed us we have two confirmed cases of Kungfu-Flu within the USAG Stuttgart DOD community. Furthermore, the Lord Mayor of Stuttgart has orderd all bars, clubs, theaters, etc closed. As of now on post the food courts are open for take away only, the commissary, gas station, substance abuse program post office and few other services remain open. Chapel services are cancelled, but Chaplains remain available.

My brother in law works at an ER in Little Rock, he said they had a guy come in six days ago with symptoms and they just found out he's positive. No telling how many people he came into contact with.

Surely they told the guy to self quarantine while they awaited his results right?

Yeah just talking about people he came into contact with at the hospital. If one nurse got it and then went to the grocery store for example. With the long incubation period there are probably a lot of people who have it that don't know it yet.

The more people I talk to the more I think it could have been in central Arkansas since early February. I’m up to 20 people that I personally know that were said to have, and treated for, the flu. All of them tested negative. All of them were sick during the month of February and took between 1-3 days to recover.
Maybe it’s a coincidence, but I don’t think it’s out of the realm of possibility.

I’m with your thought on that one. My wife just got over the most hellacious “flu” that I’ve ever seen yet she tested negative for the flu during it. She was bed ridden essentially with fever, chills, body aches, respiratory issues and a severe cough from Tuesday last week until Wednesday this week. She finally started feeling better Wednesday night but worked from home yesterday and today since she didn’t feel 100%. The sickness just kept staying which we’re not used to at all.

I'm sure it's been in the US for a while. If that turns out to be the case the death rate will be even lower than it is currently.
Still need to let this thing settle down before we get back to normal operations. I just hope that time comes sooner rather than later.

From what I have gathered the symptoms of covid are not entirely flu like. I fact healthy people get a high fever and a dry cough. No aches.

A friend of mine's mother who lives out in Washington state passed away a few days ago and the coroner confirmed today it was the Coronavirus.
Her mom, by all accounts, was a horrible person. There weren't a tremendous number of tears shed over her passing to be honest.
Still its hitting closer to home than I care to think about. Hopefully over the next few weeks we will start to get on top of this thing.

Went to the store after my run this morning to do my routine shopping. All I can say is wow, some of y'all really outdid yourselves. Going down an aisle, to left full of flash frozen vegetables; to the right, empty frozen pizza section. Some people in this state are as dumb as they are fat.

Supposedly people have been wiping out frozen food... except for lasagna. Why? I mean some of the frozen lasagna is quite nice thank you. Especially if you sprinkle a bit of extra cheese on top right before you pop it out of the oven.
Whereas most frozen pizza, to borrow a line from Lolsy Byrne, tastes like arse.

I just don't get the toilet paper thing...
If we run out, we have 20 years of mismatched socks ready for use.... Seriously...
Haven't found the other match in years, so need to use them for something!
