of course. the other states are pressuring us to do so. I dont get why we can't ban out of state folks and keep going as is. No out of staters in parks, etc. No out of staters staying with relatives.

I hate to sound like a bitter bitch but my estimate puts about 10% of the population, who are out and about, are actually following guidelines. The public don’t give a shite about people who are working for them.

Asa apparently is pretty against it because it will cost more jobs. Pressure on him from others to do it. Stupidity at its greatest since we’re currently in a pretty good curve trajectory.

FWIW, I think the reason the curve is flatter than expected is to abysmal testing, and the rediculisouly long time before results come back. Allows Asa to trumpet success for a while, when in reality it's utter failure just like it's been on all levels.

Poor testing and slow turn around flattens the curve... for a while.

I never thought I would see a time when people wanted to be controlled by the government.

Honestly, other than calling it “shelter in place” Arkansas isn’t doing things much different than our surrounding states. All of them have the same rules on State parks (day use only, facilities closed, some trails closed, etc.) I guess stores that don’t sell food could be forced to close, but gun retailers have been classified as essential leaving Bass Pro, Academy, and any other sporting goods store that sells firearms open. I have several friends that have been Turkey hunting in some of our neighboring states over the past 3-5 days and they all say there is no noticeable difference.

I’ve had people get all up in my space while grocery shopping, but I rode my bike on the river trail today and people were doing a good job of keeping their distance. Around the ponds And river there were a lot of people fishing and they were staying 50+ feet apart. Walkers were giving themselves plenty of distance and I didn’t see the large groups of cyclists that are usually there (it was mostly pairs and I only saw one group of 4 and none larger than 4) The one exception was the skate park in NLR. They probably need to shut it down because every time I ride by there are 20+ teens in a relatively small area.

What all the Karen’s on Facebook screaming what they want don’t realize is it isn’t really what they want.

They want everybody locked down in their home unable to leave for at least 2-4 weeks.

What they don’t realize, or maybe they do and are complete idiots, is that would require a declaration of Martial Law. They would be screaming to oust Asa the minute they were stopped by military personnel and told they can’t hit the Starbucks drive thru for their morning latte.

I feel like the majority of the state is doing their part in regards to social distancing.

We've been taking these measures for a couple of weeks now, and it will assuredly prevent an outbreak.

I mean it's hard to set a date on ending all of this, but if people continue to do what they're doing we should come out of this relatively unscathed.

Eventually the virus will be manageable, but my main concern is people traveling in and out of the state. I hope they have fairly strict guidelines(quarantining) when people choose to cross state lines.

Just be smart people, go outside and enjoy mother nature and all it's splendor.

If you are fortunate enough to work, be smart. Wash your hands and don't touch your damn face.

this virus will be here for a long time in some form or another.

Appalling as to how this happened without better organization by our health admins in this nation. As if we didn't have a clue such a thing could happen. Even when we are on the downward trend, round two could pop up. Until we have a vaccine approved and perfected, this will be a nightmare both health wise and fiscally.

From what I understand,we had a department in the government that worked with other countries to head off this type of pandemic. It was done away with in September and cooperation ceased.

So things are well worth keeping, regardless the cost.

I don’t know that it would have mattered being as this came out of China.

I’ve had enough dealings, and had my hotel room tossed by Chinese police enough to know you can’t trust a word they say.

I’ll tell you what I do know, a 1 a.m. knock in your hotel room door isn’t going to be the fulfillment of some Asian penthouse dream.

They want nothing more the destruction of the United Stares and their ultimate goal is to be the soul super power of the world.

It doesn’t matter what organization you had in place they never would have worked with us in a truthful manner.

You know, I thought this too until I drove a good portion across the northern part of the state yesterday. These towns are all open for business. Which I guess is fine because the cases are very low, for now. Once this thing spreads to the truly rural places, a lot of folks are probably going to die. Hope I'm wrong.

Before someone wants to get shitty about why I was traveling, I had to attend a service for a close family member. Was kind of surreal actually, there was 9 of us total because of virus precautions.

I am sorry to hear that. My condolences to you and your family.

As to COVID the latest projections are that it will peak in mid-April and then start to go down. 550 or so deaths expected across the state. For once our rural nature should serve us well. We are so spread out it is hard for it to get a foothold.

That having been said, yeah, its going to hang around and pop back up from time to time. All it takes is one sick person at the church picnic and things will truly go down the tubes. The vaccine can't get here soon enough.

I think we've got a pretty good grasp of the virus in Arkansas.

My main concern for the coming weeks is people traveling into our beautiful state. It would probably be wise to shut the borders down for a couple weeks(allowing only truckers and emergency personnel to deliver goods/supplies)

I wish every state would do that honestly. That way each state could tighten their shite up, get a handle on it, and then proceed with normal life.

Thankfully Asa told the worthless NOLA runaways to pound sand as there are no quarters here for you. No hotel rooms for out of state folks and Evidently the reason why he requested the shut down of Buffalo was because it was covered up with people from Louisiana.

What fricking idiots. I agree that that warrants more than just a $100-$500 fine.
