So he’s pretty much like every coach we’ve had in my life then. This will be said about the next one as well.
Pretty much. And that's why I've stopped giving a shite if Sam is fired or stays for another 10 years.

Here’s the deal as far as I’m concerned. It seems the program is waiting for the dust to settle on the nil crap without adding a coaching buyout as an extra expense, look at Florida.as well. As long as Sam can keep the ship above water, which he is doing, he’ll be here until we find out if there will be some sort of parity as far as paying players.
This isn’t like basketball or baseball, not close, and personally I don’t want to crash our entire athletic programs just to have a 10 fricking win season in football. That’s just my opinion.

My concern with that scenario is that we might could pull it off. Once. Then the money will dry up and we will have traded all of our athletic programs for one good (but not great) football season.

Again, I agree with you. From a business perspective, it makes sense. But that also has trickle-down effects.
Essentially, the messaging is "Hey everyone, we're kinda strapped for cash right now and have failed to adjust to the current CFB climate, so we're just going to bend over and take it for a couple years, hope we can be mediocre, and pray things are better on the other side. Oh, and we increased your ticket prices and need you to also contribute to the NIL fund...which we will use to fill our spots with G5 stars and mediocre P5 players in the meantime".
Not exactly the most motivational message to get the fan base fired up going into the season.
But I'll be turning in every Saturday. I'll be excited going into week 3 after we looked great in the 1st two games, be dejected after getting smoked by Ole Miss and losing 3 out of the next 4, and then by the end I'll be relegated to hoping we can beat LSU because TigerDick69 was talking shite on the Rant and I want to ruin his season.
That's just the way she goes, I suppose.

Meh, it cost zero dollars for a team to play motivated execute to the best of their abilities every week.
It doesn't matter the coach, the weeks where the team shows up looking unfocused and unprepared against a directional U leading to a game being closer than it should be or a loss or against a legitimate team and being blown the frick out has been the real issue stemming back decades now.
The talent level has nothing to do with each guy doing their job and doing the best they can every game.
This is something you pay for, not through NIL but through coaching salaries.

Apparently Antonio Jordan flashed today. With Cisse out for the season I wonder if he gets a shot

I’m doing my best to stay away from preseason hype. It’s not good for my health.

so, I had heart bypass surgery a few weeks ago and I get what you just said.
It's been difficult for sure. Even with the meds, bypasses, etal... I still will get Spikes of BP out of the blue. Crazy stuff man!

Take care of yourself Rev. I lost my brother earlier this week to a heart attack. The Razorbacks can't hurt me this year

Man, I am so sorry. If I had the time to tell how everything, and I mean everything, went so south in a hurry on our family. We are blessed to be alive, but it has been the most difficult, painful experience I have ever dealt with.
We've had a bunch of loss in our family in the past few years as well. Thinking of you today, and your family.

Agreed. I think we will have a VERY good offense.
If the wide receivers pan out, we should be pretty damn good on that side of the ball. I expect a lot of 42-35 type games unless the secondary and pass rush is much, much improved. So, at the very least, it should be an entertaining watch this year.
