They have been a joy to watch, I will reserve my real excitement until conference play begins.
So, let me be devil's advocate. This is Rick Barnes 2nd year at Tenner.. or 3rd... either way, how well will Tenner do this year?
He was being let go at Texas, yet....
Should they be better than Arkansas this soon? Just Thinking here... and Pearl at Auburn?

post season play in 4 out of last 5 seasons. I think were seeing what hes built. it's better than what was here and continues to keep getting better. when the results stop then let's discuss how we improve the basketball program with Gob meddling like the football team has improved.

Mediocre Mike has hit his ceiling. If fans are good with his record that's cool.
Heath and the Dopehead were terrible hires, the game has passed Mike up, I want him gone, but that's just me.
Frank fricked the Basketball program and Mike isn't the answer.

I guess our view of "every once in a while" is different. Auburn has ended a season ranked in the AP 6 times ever (last year was the first time since the 99-00 season) and they've won 4 conference titles since 1905.

Barnes at Tennessee is in the top ten in a third of the time Mike had our job.
Pearl same at Auburn in half the time of Mike’s tenure.
Both won SEC regular season last year.
Mike hasn’t won anything of value in his extended HC tenure here.
Only ranked in two years since 2008. One of those years (2017), it was for only ONE week at #22. Ranked for 9 weeks in 2014 with a high of #18 and finished #21.
Biggest myth among fans with college basketball is “it takes time”.
Mike struggles putting together a complete roster most years and takes too many developmental or mid major players late.
No excuse for not replacing Gafford in the early period but he signed 9 players last year.

His ceiling period. What he did at Mizzou and UAB is passed tense.
The game has passed him by and there's no pressure here at Arkansas for him to upgrade coaches or get to a sweet 16.
Wait til he get's his players BS is growing old.

Meh, I'm excited that we MAY have a good team, but it's too early to tell.
Mike has been on job long enough that we should be better than middle of the pack in the SEC and no NCAA tourney success.
Threads like this will only backfire when we start losing those conference games.
I really hope, though, that this is a team that can make a sweet 16 run in the postseason. I have totally forgotten what it feels like to be relevant in March.

So his ceiling is elite 8. Does Mizzou have something that Arkansas doesn't in terms of the basketball program? Why can he reach it with Mizzou but not Arkansas? You think he is a worse coach now than he was 10 years ago? What exactly does it mean to say the game has passed him by? His style could work 10 years ago but not now? I genuinely asking.
