It's clear Sam and all his 'aw shucks' loyalty bullshite won't do it.
Special teams (outside of Kicker) continue to be fuking horrendous. Their penalty tonight cost Chris Paul a gigantic injury.
Offensive line continues to be dogshit.
QB development is... Well not very developmental.
Etc, etc, etc...

Hunter should send Sam packing and install Marcus Woodson as HC

I think if we beat Miss State he gets another year if he cans Fountain, Cody, and Dan.
If we go winless- the entire wagon is sent off to sea.

The firings have already been done last year.
We are past that.

If you fire those guys in the offseason and keep Sam, no coach worth a damn will come take a job for a HC that is about to be fired.
He'd have to fill the staff with G5 coordinators/coaches who are currently making peanuts at smaller programs.
It could be done and you could hit paydirt and actually buy Sam another year, but it's not a good situation to be in.

dude , i think it is time to let go of the thought sam will be fired.
He won't, the PTB and BOT has enough good will from the past three seasons being bowl eligible and winning those he played.
I really do believe he is here next year regardless...

I’d say he will be here at least next year, maybe the year after…
I am apathetic towards the whole situation.
Which is where I was during the end of Bert through Chad Morris.

Ah yes. Why wonder if a coach will get fired in yr 4 if he goes 0-8 or 1-7 in conference. What lunacy...

"I say, I say" you say too much to be a so called apathetic...
and you sure like to mention that you were first to point stuff out... Does that win you a lottery, or a twinky?

Whelp... He won't go 0-8 and most likely not 1-7... So, fret away...

I can see winning 3 at home but I also saw us beating BYU at home. This offense is so comically bad though that I could just as easily see us going 0-5 against that schedule as the wheels start to fall off with the players.
@Bama
State
@Florida
Auburn
Mizzou

It the situation doesn’t improve by the end of the regular season, all of those people will roll on CSP. That’s the way this works.
In the end, public approval is what determines the coach’s fate. An AD can stay employed for a long time by just following public sentiment. HY isn’t an idiot like Jeff Long. He’s not staking his career to a losing football coach.

I can see Sam just stepping down and HY giving him the "golden handcuffs"

If Arkansas goes 6-6, Sam gets another year.
If they miss out on a bowl then I don't see him surviving and now with a yearly regression that he is having.
He better watch it or this year will turn into a Chad season.
When people have started to turn on you this quickly then you know the end is near.

Defense will keep Arkansas in those games but offense will lose them.

Sam really screwed the pooch for one major reason.
The OL.
How on earth can one of the best OL coaches in the country have this bad of a unit in year four?
Think about it. If we had a good OL we probably have a minimum of 2 more wins.
I like Sam. But dammit man, your bread and butter is the worst unit on our team. Where are the Ragnows, Skippers, Tretolas, Kirklands? We don't have one OL remotely close to those guys in talent.
If he does get another year, he better go get a couple of those guys because if he doesn't it's over.
This is the most frustrating Razorback squad in recent memory. So much potential squandered because Sam didn't go out and get some studs up front. Makes you want to kick a baby.

Ok, we shall see. But there are always caveats. "If the situation doesn't improve by the end of the season" Yeah... it will. Of course I could be wrong, but I doubt it in this instance. WPS
