At the smallest thing or calling for the coaches heads mid game? All the coaches this year have done phenomenal in my opinion improving us year over year with a short disrupted preparation period.
This board has some extremely knowledgeable members when it comes to football it also appears we have some folks around here that don't understand even basic concepts.

We've become accustomed to expect the worst.
Hopefully we are heading toward the light...and it not being a train.

One does not preclude the other. We can be knowledgeable and know basics, and at the same time believe the sky is falling. The conditioning we have taken the past few years is alike the social engineering of a nation.. Gradually (I just had too, lol) but partly true. Several of us have immense PTSD from being big time fans. We expect the worst, hope for the best.
Hopefully we will become healed to expect the best, and be shocked with the worst..

I mean there is the woe is me stuff that we'll get over but the idiot faction of the fans unhappy with briles and his offense are ridiculous. Calling him a bad oc or bad play caller is a bit ridiculous

I don't really expect people to be football experts in order to have a valid opinion. It just gets old having to watch people completely go off the deep end when it's clear they don't fully grasp what they're so heavily criticizing.

So for example your thread. That's a valid and simple to reason complaint. Smith is clearly playing better. I'd prefer smith to get more touches and passes specifically in the screen game to ease the pressure up on the online.
I'm talking about the never run a reverse or gadget play crowd. Or the nonspecific play calling complainers

These ding dongs demanding perfection from our coaches and playes probably can't even wipe their asses properly.

quote:It's the go to saying now. If we were running basic plays they'd be screaming "eh muh gawd.... can weez not call anything but vanella playz?!??" Our fans are horrible about catching onto one gripe and beating it to the ground. mediocre ("mediacroty loosers").... staring down receivers.... vanilla.... high school....blah blah blah. You gotta love the fans demanding that we replicate what we did in the 3rd quarter ALL GAME. So they want us to score 96 points on a SEC team??? Only to be outdone by the fans who believe in moral losses and discredit any success we have by trashing the teams we beat or by saying that we were lucky to win.... seriously - this shite happens all the time. It's like they forget where we've been the past two seasons. Beyond that I think we have a segment of fans who only want to talk shite. If we win they'll talk shite about the opponent. If we lose they'll talk shite to the team they supposedly support.
I believe the term they use is "mickey mouse high school bullshite".

It just proves the old adage about how irrational and emotional men are...

We haven't had a team that could respond to adversity in almost a decade. I remember exactly one time in Bielema's tenure where the team came out after being down big and willed themselves to victory. That's when we were down 31–7 to Ole Miss in 2017. Besides that, it felt like mostly blown leads after the half. We could be up 17-24 points halfway through the third and know we weren't safe.
Our offense is very streaky and slow to start sometimes, and it seems like we have trouble finding a rhythm. It feels like we have drives where we have a play go for 25 yards, another for 11 yards, and then we lose yardage three plays in a row. Our defense has bailed us out much of the time, which is also a foreign concept to us these days.
We'll just have to keep winning some hard fought games before people learn to trust Pittman and the staff to not give us the same old. It's weird watching a situation where it's all about to fall to shite and then just… doesn't.

It really isn't any different elsewhere, other than they are the same way with their pro teams as well...

No different than your "special teams coaching" comments.
There's a lot of hypocrisy all around here.
Just sayin'

Yeah, this is the bottom line. Most fans are alike regardless of team affiliation

The main reason I've stayed away from the board.
I had a feeling this year would be slow sledding but damn, Pitboss has done some amazing stuff already considering how Chagget left us in ruins.

Not some bitchboi "OH MY GOD BRILES SUCKS FIRE HIM BLAH BLAH BLAH" bullshite that you pull on the regular.

Compare this:

to this:

It flipped from the punter to the 4th string QB (Lindsey). Which is part of the problem = special team coaching. I'm willing to give about everyone a pass this year due to first year and all the other shitty things they had to deal with but the special teams needs to improve greatly before next season.
The only time I've ever melted was when Chad Morris was getting our heads kicked in by North Texas and Western f'n Kentucky.

What can I say, the throw backs and triple flip reverses give me PTSD.
Throw in some heavy IPAs and Bourbon and it turns to pure shell shock sometimes.
Will go away with time, coming back and beating TN down was some good medicine.
But I backed off and said my points still stands that Briles or Pittman still have something to learn about game management play calling.
No different than what you said regarding special teams coaching improvement.

Well, yeah... 1st time HC and Baby Briles 1st time in the SEC... Right? Makes sense that their is some learning and adjusting to do. But to take this team to where they have gone after our cluster....
