I'm not a negahog

Pittman has just never shown to be a guy who will piss somebody off in order to make them a better player or leader.

He wants to be the guy you listen to music and drink cold beer with.

Thats not a leader

It's why, outside of a sr. laden team, we never have leaders. He doesn't develop them. Leaders develop Leaders and he's not one.

I'm all for having Bobby around the program and hope he can provide what Sam can't, but I just don't see how it all works out.

That’s not a leader

You could be right

But without having inside access to the football program it’s still your opinion and an assumption.

Oh but you’ve seen him on the sideline a handful of times and ‘behind the scenes’ videos, so it’s not an assumption

a friend of mine said, "Everybody thinks pittman is so fun to be around, a nice guy... You haven't seen him behind the scenes, He is tough and not a great dude to be around"!

Hard to acclimate the two personas!

I had a suspicion as much

Soft teddy bear good ole baw at the surface level, puts peoples guards down and good for relationship building, with a hard son of a bitch lurking underneath.

The persona he plays in front of the media as "ol shucks good ole boy co beer drinkin HS lake having fun" he's not naive as he wants the fans to think he is.

My issues with him are not addressing problems or creating problems like hiring a buddy in Enos as OC with a scheme and roster full of players not fit for it or like the OL the entire last year because favoritism or not wanting to help Kennedy save the season.

Our talent evaluation and development of what we do have sucks.

Agree on the leadership but that goes all the way to the top above HY and SP. All of them with hands in the football program don't have foresight and leadership to push Arkansas forward from the board to President to Chancellor to HY all the way down to the field.

Shite in-game coaching decision and play calling. Doesn't understand the concept of time-score and not using timeouts before a 5 yard penalty before punting. Not playing best players like McGlothern and others to inferior talent. "I didn't know what to do".

I would imagine that decision is up to his defensive coordinator unless it’s a disciplinary problem.

I’ve heard Sam say in interviews that he didn’t want his players to perceive him as being soft, so I assume what we see isn’t always what players see in practice.

Not a Negahog at all.

I seem to recall a bunch on here losing their shite over how Chad Morris was the best thing since sliced bread.

Now here y'all go again over BMFP and a career OL coach in year five.

Carry on ya'll.
Comedy central at its best.

I choose to think positively as a football fan. My expectations are the cellar so when we make it to the floor level I’m ecstatic. Haha

I'll think positive when the administration shows they give a shite. Right at this moment, they have proven to me that's the farthest thing from their minds.

Pittman having the faults of being a position coach learning on the job to be a head coach isn’t new information.

Some of you continue to get upset over things that have been known since he was hired for some reason. He is what he is and it was expected he was going to learn on the job.

The thing people should really be questioning and maybe upset over is why we hired someone to learn on the job in the first place.

Reading this thread gives me the itches... The curable kind however, but still... Itches like a son of a...

Lordy Mercy folks... What will it take to scratch that itch?

Here is my take, like anyone give a flying rip.
1. BP was hired, and the offense will improve dramatically throughout the season.
2. Defense will continue to improve at a smaller pace, but improve still.
3. ST's will take a small step back on FG/but elsewhere improve a bit.
4. Problems with drama on the team (Much like the fans) will improve some as well.
5. The portal haul will move up slightly in the coming weeks to fill holes needed.
6. We will be bowl eligible.. And move for more improvement the following year.

Sam has 3 years left to get to a better place if this happens. Will you hope for improvement, or just want it to burn down to get rid of Sam/Bobby and start all over again?

I think if we can improve even a couple games in the W/L column, but most importantly play every game with motivation and fire, good body language that looks like our players care and are actually trying their hardest every game - then I will be happy as a fan even with a mediocre final record and would be okay with the Pittman/Petrino experiment getting another year.

The biggest glaring negative this last season wasn't the talent disadvantage, it was the lack of care, pride, fire, and motivation - on our offense in particular. We could've won at least 2 more games if our team played like they wanted to be there, instead we had internal problems that caused us to play flat, sloppy, and uninspired.

Get those "mental problems" fixed and I'd be okay with a mediocre record (and bringing Sam back again) as long as our team played it's hardest every game

Let’s cut the shite. He’s coached football for 40 years, spent the last 12 years exclusively in the SEC, he’s starting his fifth year as the head coach of an SEC program and he makes over $6M/year. The man is what he is at this point.

Not disagreeing, but we heard the exact same thing last year with Jamil Walker, and the DB's coach (Bowman?) the year prior.

Yep. Two years in a row the locker room has gone to total shite. Leadership is weak throughout and it starts with Sam.
