Unfortunately, last year felt like a miracle run for the hogs. I will be surprised if they make the championship series again this year.

It's very frustrating to have the game won last season only to lose on the pop-up (In their defense the ball was perfectly in the middle of all of them. The ball was divinely placed where none of them could make the play) Such is life.

Eric Cole had the best angle and should have called off Shaddy and Gates, but Shaddy wanted to be the hero.

Also, DVH should have never left Cronin in. You could tell he was tired and didn't have his stuff.

As far as this year's team, I think there is potential to make it to a Super. We have an ace starter, ace closer, and a good core 3 in the lineup. Thats about all you can ask for when losing 11 guys to the draft and 2 signees.

Much will depend on Campbell's control... let's hope he finally finds some consistency.

I don't think last year was a "miracle" by any means. That was an extremely talented team. Preseason top 5 team that was the #5 national seed. Beat a lot of good teams throughout the season and carried that into the postseason.

Not really sold on this yet, Campbell has flashes of dominance but when he's off he's pretty bad. The staff as a whole I think will be solid though. Maybe he'll put it together.

It's crazy that we almost won it all without winning a single road series all year. That was the only reason I was hesitant that we could make it there. Pretty sure that had never been done before.

You're right. I'm just s natural pessimist. To me it felt like "our chance to win It". Who knows...maybe we'll win the CWS this year.

Without question, and some media even picked us to win it all. That being said, I think any run like that in many ways is a miracle. Not that we didn't deserve it but so many really great teams get a little unlucky and don't make it.

You could also tell the look in Coles eyes he was happy to have someone call him off. He wanted no part of that moment. He played with his butthole squeezed shut the entire championship series

Definitely agree with this. You never know when you will have that complete of a team again. They weren't some team that just got hot in the postseason. They beat some damn good teams and pitchers throughout the season and then again in the postseason.

They are one of just a few Arkansas or Vanderbilt teams that I have watched and thought they had a legitimate shot to win it all from day 1.

But I understand the pessimism too. I think we all get a little jaded because we have seen very talented teams not even make it out of their own regionals.

We were in a position to win, yes, but Oregon State was the better baseball team that entire weekend. We were lucky to even win game 1. It's been easier to swallow that loss over time knowing they really were just flat out better than us for that period of time. We were playing with house money.

Yeah I don't get it either. Kendall Rogers had us as his preseason pick to win it all. It was a team with high expectations that performed to those expectations.

I see Casey Martin has moved back to SS full time and will be starting there, probably a good move as he wasn't going to play 3B as a pro.

He was damn good on the hot corner last year, though. A lot of really good stabs and he definitely had the arm to play the position.
