I remember several years ago when DVH had to play small ball to win games.And he did a fine job of it.
This is much more fun to watch.
We are deep at pitching and hitting,this looks like a solid team.

We don't have the top end of the staff that an elite SEC team would normally have, but we also won't have to worry about running out of arms that can be effective, either. Not many teams can say that, elite or not. This is also the strongest 1-9 batting order I think we've ever had under DVH and we're damn good defensively minus Martin. The squad looks primed for another run.

There will be time for small ball as we saw against Eastern Illinois. This team is great and I believe can be elite with time.

With the speed of Martin, Moore and Franklin, I wouldn't be surprised if we played a lot of small ball this season. We can do both well, but I think small ball would lower strikeouts and be more effective.

He had all of last season and an entire off season and it appears he's the same player.
This might just be "him". Sucks but hopefully he can bang in a fair amount of HRs and limit the mistakes in the field down the stretch but it's not going to get any easier once the SEC rolls around.

Christian Franklin has really impressed me so far. Looks like he really worked at his technique at the plate. He's been able to hit high velo unlike last year.

I think his career is feeling more and more like Fletcher's. Really seemed to cool off towards the end. Hopefully he can keep making the plays at SS that others wouldnt at least.
