I hope you're staying in Fayetteville and going to the game tomorrow.

Has Van Horn had a team that can hit this good? We can knock the cover off the ball.
The Wilkins, Cox, Eibner team was a pretty good lineup, but I don't think they hit this good.
The one spot in the lineup I haven't liked much has been Cole, but he delivered last night. If he can get going enough the rest of the season to just get that average around .260 or so, its a pretty potent lineup. As long as DVH leaves Gates in and gives up on the other 3B candidates who can't hit to save their lives, we are pretty solid.
When the lineup has holes is when DVH starts trying to get away from the lineup we saw last night. Shaddy has been playing solid defense(knock on wood)as of late so the weakness there isn't so weak on the defensive side.

We waited for Sunday to be flaccid dicks at the plate this weekend.

I love the talent we have assembled on this team, but my god they choked on a big bag of dicks these last 10 innings.
They didn't fight thru the adversity at all. Mentally weak.

I think yet another Saturday collapse took the wind out of their sails. With luck they will bounce back but we have to find a way to close the show on Saturdays.

We should rebound and win the series next week against Georgia possibly sweep. That should get us back rolling again and hopefully we take the series next time we play a top 25 team and will be rolling come post season

Very disappointed in how things went this weekend. Today, our team acted like they would be rather sitting on their couches playing Xbox.

I think we have a very good chance at sweeping Georgia but we should have swept a hapless Bama team. I'd take a 2-1 series win but as tough as the SEC is going to be this year I'd like to run the table when we get the chance.

Hell I'll take us figuring out our Saturday problem and finishing a game that day.

Stats updated after that disaster of a weekend.
Need to get some things figured out in the bullpen. This weekend both of our starters ERA went down, but the team ERA went up. Thats not what we want.

quote:well you say that but other than saturday we only gave up 5 runs combined. Saturday was a fluke occurrence where you mix in a hit batter with some errors against a good team and stuff like that happens. Hopefully we'll learn from it and beat that tiger arse the next time we play them

It wasn't just the 9th inning that concerned me.
Kopps entered in the 8th. He couldn't get the 3rd out and gave up 3 earned runs and walked a guy. The Chadwick comes in to get out of the 8th, then proceeds to give up 2 earned runs and 2 hits. Errors or not, relief pitching gave up 4 earned runs in the final 2 innings and that should not happen. Kopps gave up a HR on an 0-2 count. Just bad relief pitching all around and that carried over to the defensive play in the field.
Chadwick plunking the guy in the head was essentially the needle entering the balloon.
