"The atmosphere is way better than Fayetteville," Trisha Davis of White Hall said.

"Everyone enjoys the Little Rock game," said Nichols, who arrived at the stadium about 7:45 a.m. after driving from Rison, which is in Cleveland County and about an hour's drive from Little Rock. "You can't tailgate like this in Fayetteville. It's precious to the fans down south."

I guess that's why the stadium was soooo full then.

The stadium was sooooo full for the same reasons DWRRS was soooo full this year.

The ones that were in WMS (me included) were very supportive of the Hogs.

Were you wearing camo?

And of course they’re happy. It’s like a spring game in November.

Bystanders were laughing at the bar how small and shitty the stadium looked. It’s an embarrassment on CBS.

Attendance at War Memorial Stadium on Friday was 33,961, the lowest total for an Arkansas game in its home away from home since 1996.

When we look like a high school compared to fricking Memphis on televised games, it might be a clue we should stop playing any games in Little Rock. I wouldnt blame someone for thinking the Hogs play in the Sunbelt these days.

Attendance at War Memorial Stadium on Friday was 33,961, the lowest total for an Arkansas game in its home away from home since 1996.

They had 2 weeks to rally around this team. We fired Chad Morris and gave them Barry Lunney. He made emotional pleas and told them stories about the importance of WMS. He did such a great job that some of the wms fans want to hire him as head coach.

There were calls to #selloutwarmemorial and hold a Senior Day South. They knew that the lowest amount of tickets bought was the 41k for WKU. All they had to do was buy 42k tickets and they would have some sort of point BUT nope. 33,961.

Since you mention 1996 - can you guess where the lowest total for a Razorback game was that year? LSU game in WMS sold 22,329 tickets. Greatest fans ever!

It's f'n amazing how much some of these wms fans will twist and bend the truth to justify playing games in wms. The media down there did everything they could to avoid posting pictures but thankfully some of the river valley and nwa folks were down there to set the record straight.

Then the goalposts moved from to well, we didn't sell as many tickets but we'll win the game down here. Da hogs need us little rock fans to win. Nevermind we haven't won a conference game in wms in forever. Nope, no win.

Now it's the whole the fans are louder and more engaged. No - the fans aren't louder. The stadium is smaller and bowled in but the fans weren't any louder yesterday than they were when Hayden Henry knocked the ball lose and we scooped and scored vs. Colorado State.

In regards to the engaged part ---- no. Fans having a drunk sing-a-long of friends in low places is not being engaged into the game.

Also, plenty of people complained about food and drinks running out. How is that possible when only 25k people were there. 33k tickets sold but there were nowhere near that many actually there.

Then you add the numerous injuries despite the new turf and you think you can't get any worse..... but you can.

Rival fans and opponents have been laughing at this team all season. We suck. Duh! But when a stadium is so bad that the focus goes from "Man that team sucks" to "look at that dump of a high school stadium" it's bad. There was a national writer who said that our stadium is the reason why we can't hire a good coach. Dude must be f'n idiot if he didn't realize that wasn't our home stadium but still it sucks that this narrative is already being pushed out there.

Now the fun part. Contracts.

WMS article with contract info

quote:

The UA will pay War Memorial up to $75,000 to cover operating costs at the stadium for spring games, but will not pay for regular-season games played there, according to the contract.

Other key points in the contract include benchmarks for tickets sold and ticket revenue for the games against Missouri. The contract states that a minimum of 47,000 tickets should be sold to each game and that ticket revenue should increase from a minimum of $2.1 million for this week’s game to a minimum of $2.5 million for the 2023 game against Missouri.

First off - what? We have to pay war dump to play a spring game down there. F that.

WMS fell short of the 47k mark badly and the revenue was really really bad with a good portion of yesterdays tickets given away.

Y’all baws just need to give it up. We are going to continue to play in Little Rock for the foreseeable future. Yes we wear camo sometimes because we don’t want to wear overalls to the games like you NWA hillbillies. Y’all need to be far more concerned about filling all those extra seats at RRS.

And some of us at least will be returning to the great venue the next couple of weekends for the HS championship games.

I thought we were the wine and cheese crowd, and yall were the egalitarian center of the state?

Trying to have it both ways. Anyone who has seen a LR crowd knows the truth.

Expect it to be announced that Arkansas will lose the black Friday time slot. In order to keep it CBS expected WMS to be full. Right now the hold up is getting LSU to agree to the timeslot with Aggy.

Congrats Little Rock, you've out did yourselves.

Nope. We don't play in lil rock next season. With the right hire we will have the greatest attendance of all time without that war dump anchor dragging us down.

no, we actually don't because RRS is the HOME campus. No quota for us. Ya'll had your chance but said "we don't needz no edyamucahun" when they were deciding the home of THE University of Arkansas back in the 1800s.

But in regards to filling the stadium. The tickets sell here (unlike in wms) = 41k for the worst tickets sold vs. 33k. And the worst selling tickets are the little rock sections AKA the nosebleed 500s. We've thought about removing those sections and putting up overhangs but we didn't want to make it where little rock fans couldn't get a ticket.

These LR vs NWA are stupid.

Not hiring shitty coaches like Bert and Chert will solve attendance issues at both venues.

Truthfully this. The way to fill either stadium is to field a competitive, winning team and that starts with good coaching. It’s happened before.
