Same man, I held on to the rope longer than I should have. I think part of it was that I was so sick of the losing and the bitching that causes on this site, that I wanted to not believe I was looking at a turd sandwich of a program being ran by Chad Morris. If our team doesn't fold and fights in every game that in itself would be an improvement

This is my thought as well. Our inability to generate any kind of a pass rush last year was painful to watch. Those two and the addition of Jacobs give me hope that Odom might be able to squeeze some improvement out of this group. I just wish we got to warm up against some non-conference first.

Interested to see what Catalon can do as well. Honestly think we could be improved at both DL and DB but our LBs may be the worst in the SEC.

My three wins are against Ole Miss,Texas A&M and Missouri. Ole miss is more possible because we play harder against them than anyone else.
I don't see a win against Miss St. because we don't traditionally play well against the early part of the SEC schedule. If it was later in the year then the chances would be higher.

We had problems with the linebacker posistion for years and depth as well but the rest of the defense still found ways to make atops in the past.
Now these last two years are artrocious because we have no defensive line that can stop the run or ends that can create any kind of pass rush nor can they set the edges.
A team can have a good group linebackers but it means nothing if they are unable to fill gaps if the front four is being pushed back and linebackers are out of the play.

A&M has traditionally been propped up because they are from Texas. They appear better than they are but they still have holes on the team if they didn't then Bama and LSU wouldn't beat them as bad. They won against us in the SEC because we had the worst coaching since the Otis Douglas years.
I don't see a talent difference where it would persuade anyone that A&M should be a huge favorite going in. It is still a very winnable game.
The offensive line has continued to improve year to year. They were terrible in 2018, bad in 2019 and will be average in 2020. So Boyd will do continue to improve from these last two years.

Dorian Gerald I think got a blood clot or something last year in the second game of the year. That destroyed our pass rush for the rest of the year.
Jacobs was on some watch lists last year before he got hurt. He could have stayed ar State but the opportunity to start and play in the SEC, couldn't be passed up.

I was at the opener. Pass rush wasn't something we ever tried last year

A part of me hopes it’s Ole Miss. 7 OTs, Matt Jones dunk, our first shutout win under Bielema, 4th and 25. It’d just be a good time for it to be them.
But that’d be a lot of losses before then so I really just hope we break our curse against State first.
