Kenny G for head coach now seems like the obvious move.

I know we won’t ever win the sec or a natty but is beating Missouri and the Mississippi schools more times than not, and not losing our non cons too much to ask? I’m asking legitimately because you have way more insight into the program than I do. If it is then I will adjust my expectations accordingly and just root for 6 wins. Right now I expect to get 8 wins every now and then

Those teams have their good years too, but losing to state this year should cause head to roll, which it did.

Arkansas has been extremely unlucky when it comes to the shite tier teams having their once in a decade team when the finally meet, example Kentucky and vandy.

But yes, although Herman was weird personally Texas didn't give him nearly enough time. I don't think that fanbase was willing to come to terms with the fact that they had fallen a long way down the ladder and weren't willing to have the patience to be rebuilt back over a handful of years. They expect success right away or nothing.

They haven’t fallen that far. They still get top 10 classes, the problem is the puzzle pieces don’t fit. Just like at A&M. Just because you get 5 star cornerbacks don’t mean they will fit your system and mesh with all the dudes on your team.

Both Texas teams have done what kills every start up company, they threw money at the problem instead of seeing what works and building on that.

Also those places suck to work, too many chiefs (oil money guys) not enough Indians. Everyone wants their input heard.

I think Jimbo and Herman would probably work here. Texas takes a special personality like Mack Brown to make it work.

A great deal of truth to that.

Seems like we had a 9 win season in 2021 but I might be mistaken.

Jimbo outside of his Jameis years is a terrible HC.

Winning the SEC is absolutely difficult. Like once in a 15 year opportunity. This year would have been perfect with the schedule we had, except for the away games stacked.

Bama was not the bama we saw tonight, the opportunity like this season doesn't come around often. Yep, it can piss ya off.

We could most definitely be in the 12 team playoff in the coming 3-5 years with the right schedule, coaches, and talented players. Is pittman that? Doubtful.

But, i always go back to Dabo's struggles, among a few others who built something slowly and methodically. Nil and Portal should cause that to happen a little faster with the right coaches too though.

Then we have TX and OK comeing along. Not sure if this will hurt or help in talent. It hurts in that we would have players from their footprint able to play in the SEC and families see them more often. However, those big 12 schools left... they could be our main competition with that talent and they would be playing at TX, OK, etc. Not sure yet. TAMU definitely hurt us overall imho. I know I rambled!

We must, and I mean Must get the general fan contributing to the NIL funds however. I see larger donations happening, but what about the 50.00 t0 100.00 donations that add up from most fans. What could we accomplish with promoting that?

spending big doesn't guarantee you shite.

Buying a big name coach like Jimbo or Kelly doesn't guarantee a thing nor does paying a ton of money for recruits/transfers. It may get you to 8-4 instead of 6-6 but in terms of a national title or close? Nah.

I can see both sides of it, spend a little not a lot so you don't end up like USCw, A&M, Miami spending $50M a year to go 7-5. If you can spend $5M a year and go 7-5 with Sam most years.

Coaching: scheme, situational and in-game time management is how a school like Arkansas makes up for our built-in disadvantages.

I'm not saying punt on recruiting completely but schools all around the country in the top of these recruiting rankings hire these recruiting HC types have stacked teams of stars and talent but so many of them lose games they shouldn't because of in-game decisions or just out right stupidity.

The 12 team playoff will help some of these though because they will still have the talent and be able to get into the playoff with 2 or 3 losses.

Not, just wise in money management... Usually.

I love what I do for my main job, but supplement by making more elsewhere. FWIW!

No, but spending more than we currently do on NIL would definitely help.

The grove collective is a nice model, have you seen what OM is doing. It is showing on the field this season as well.

Kiff is not a great personality to be around. I've seen it. But his persona in media, online, along with the Nil is going places.

Plus, we have big donors kind of stiffing the FB program, (Their money, their choice) but not much for the common fan to contribute to being advertised well. 25.00 a month from 250,000 fans would be incredible. JMHO!

Until we have a competent AD (department as a whole, not just HY)and BOT as well as bigtime donors who f-off out of the decision-making processes. It doesn’t matter how much money we dump in. That’s been proven time and again here.

He is just autistic like Desantis.

Easy to do when you don’t have to spend any on other sports.
