So was Lane Kiffin at USC. I think we’d all hire him tomorrow, if we could.

Ohhh No! gasp at the thought, Because we have absolutely been way too good, excelled to the extinct that we surely wouldn't want to stoop to hiring anyone who coached at Texass...

Why on Earth would anyone from Arkansas want sloppy seconds from Texas?

You'd probably pick up the partially used apple from the garden of Eden even though the bite had been taken out of it, just because you were hungry? I'll pass.

Here you go again, with the..."Who could we find any better!" argument...but this time with a used set of panties, unwashed, from TU. Dispicable.

Why wouldn't we look at Craig Bohl?

He is a few years older than who my first call would be...which puts his age getting on up there at 65. He really has no history of coaching in the south, outside of a short stint as LB's coach at Tulsa back when I was still in my daddy's ball sack.

Id probably pass...Cignetti coached at Bama for about three years under Saban...so he has a pretty good idea of what it would take at an SEC program and what the work load would be.

Let me be clear...I dont require SEC experience...but I think a lot of coaches who come to the league with no SEC or ACC/Big 12 experience, really have no clue.

See Auburn's last hire from Boise, Jim McElwain at Florida, Butch Jones at Tennessee, or Joe Moorhead at Miss State. Lots of risk with guys who have no experience in a heavy football area.

To be more clear...because Herman is the select few around the world with his IQ he is in a select club. Staff members did not care for him because he only went with what he wanted, because he legit felt he was the smartest person in the room, no matter what room he was in. He was not open to players giving him any input.

There are only 145k people in the world who are smart enough to be in Mensa International.

You think you are pulling your hair out because Pittman wont line KJ up under center for a QB sneak...Hire Herman and see how much hair you have left.

Why does where he coached at before matter?

I'm not a big fan of his but it has nothing to do with Texas

I don't get that either. Quality choices are already limited enough without other arbitrary limitations added on.

I don't care about the age of the coach, his "street fighting ability" (some of these opinions are just straight up weird, fellas), what he looks like, etc. I only care that he can recruit (and/or hire great recruiters), embraces the portal, makes good in-game decisions, and can develop talent.

The argument, in this instance, isn't "Who could we find better" but it is... Who the crap do you, or anyone think we are that we would too good to hire a coach who has won 69% of his games, is 5/1 in bowl games, and has a great offense? In 6 years, 2 of those bowls were the Peach and Sugar... Been a while for us.

Does where he coached really matter? It doesn't to me.

On the crudeness of the apple... Sure, but at least I would pray over it first... And I personally have been in poorer situation in my life where I would wash the drawers and wear them... But whatever fits you bro!

All of this, along with.. I don't care what his IQ is (As long as he isn't a blooming idiot, see JLS, Bert, Chad) or who he has coached for (other than Gus, lol).

But Petrino was also all those things. He was a dick, people hated him, no one wanted to work for him, he famously forced the defense to practice how he wanted them to do versus what the DC wanted them to do. He truly thought he was the smartest in the room at all times.

He also won here and we didn’t care about any of those things.

I bet we could get past that with Herman too if he starts putting up 9+ win seasons.

I have often heard that Petrino would make adjustments at halftime of each game with the defense.

Gus coming home is our mike Anderson moment. The spurned assistant returns towards end of his career to stabilize the program. Then we can hire that badass coach to take us over the hump next.

Unfortunately Arkansas has moved from maybe next year to maybe the coaching hire after next. This downward slide is brutal.....

I'd be fine with giving him a shot at it.
