I actually don’t think the OL has been as bad as the receivers and defense have been this year. They’re middle of the pack in sacks given up in the SEC. Struggled against LSU but they have a great defense. Will probably struggle next weekend too against another really good DL.

If Harris and Pulley come back the only real losses from the defense will be Greenlaw and Watts. Hoping Pool can make a big jump and fill in there.

Yeah I've been pleasantly surprised at our OL this year. Fry has done a good job with what he was given. Eons better than what they were last year. Still not where they need to be, but nothing is.

Depth on defense will skyrocket, particularly up front. That will help with some of the late-game woes.

Yeah, I'm really excited about all the depth we will have to work with going forward. Morris surprised with his dedication to.getting better on defense because it would have been a whole lot easier to load up on WRs like BP did.

I just hope we can flip the numbers thinking 10-2 next year to offset the 2-10 this year

Yeah, the offensive line is better than it was, but it still isn't good. And we are losing Froholdt. The offensive line will take a step backwards next year IYAM.

Froholdt
looked like the worst offensive lineman we had last Saturday. Dude was the reason LSU had at least 2 sacks when they sent an overload blitz to his side and instead of helping the LT pick up the blitz dude never looks that way and double teams a dtackle while our LT has 2 dudes basically rushing at him so one comes completely unblocked and hits storey. I know it happened at least twice which is why he had zero time on some of those sacks. How are you a senior lineman and not know how to play with your head on a swivel. Most high school lineman know of you dont have somebody to block you look both ways for a blitz and he doesnt know how to do that??

Hmm I see 3-5 wins without Bryant, possibly 7 with him.

I wouldn't be surprised if we see a few more players get "processed". We are going to have to flip the roster to start winning games.

The good news is that help is coming unless we get a rash of decommits. But it will take some time to get them up to SEC speed.

Not disagreeing with you but PFF actually graded out Froholdt with the highest pass blocking number of his career at 88.6

I expected 5-7, maybe even 6-6 going into this season, so what the hell do I know?

If this great class holds together, and Morris can cobble an O-line together, maybe next year will be the 5-7 or 6-6 season. A bowl game would be success, IMO.

Yeah. Froholdt isn't the best in the world or anything, but he is the best player in a Hogs uniform this year.

I'll go with 5-6 wins. He won 2 in his first year at SMU and 5 the following year. Players will know the playbook better and it's usually the 2nd year when teams surprise the most under a new coach.

But I'll be happy with 3-4 wins, which would probably signify some improvement. My biggest concern is that Morris won't receive enough time to turn things around. Regardless of whether he works out at Arkansas, firing him too soon would only set us back further and it's part of the reason we're where we are today, imo.

We can hang our hat on knowing that he's doing a great job with recruiting, so even if he doesn't work out, he'll at least leave the cupboard well stocked for his replacement. Arkansas has never recruited this well in the modern era of online recruiting services and we could be breaking a glass ceiling of sorts. If you're one who thinks it's all about the Jimmy and Joe's, then you should love Morris.

he did fine when he put his hands on someone the problem is half the time he wouldnt even look at the guy he should've been blocking

I’ll preface this by saying...I’m not a huge Froholdt fan at all...

If I recall your examples you posted above, those were corners or possibly an OLB blitzing?

That’s actually the QBs job to point out and make the call. Froholdt at guard is only going to see what’s in front of him. If he gets a check from the QB or the LT then his assignment will change. If there is nothing said, he sticks with his assignment.

Storey hardly ever sees a corner blitz or blitzes off the edge. He also never makes the correct call at the LOS and is why LSU did it so much.

As much as I would be okay with saying it’s all on the Danish kid, it’s really not. Which is why he graded out so high.
