Agreed. We’re going to get utterly destroyed the next three games so I don’t see anyway Long could keep him if he wanted to. I bet RRS will be on ghost town for the Mizzou game which should seal the deal.

It will ironically look just like Faurot Field last year.

I'm not whining. I'm expressing anger at the state of the program I've rooted for all my fricking life, man. There's a difference.

I can know this guy is on borrowed time, and still be pissed off that he is SO frickING INEPT.

Jesus. Just listen to the guy's pressers. He is clueless.

Coaching pool will cause JL too grab up Holtz or Norvell, if he's forced to make a move this year.

In three years we'll be right back here again bitching and moaning about the current state of the football team.

How the hell does accepting the blame excuse anything? If I frick up at my job and say to my boss, “Yeah I fricked up”, then I’m not magically excused for all wrongdoing. I still fricked up at my job.

and this could actually happen. I am not sure what Is best for the long term stability and success of the program.

Surely there are some coaches out there that would do great at Arkansas and would come here over the dumpster fire Tenner has become, choose us over milk men cheerleaders, and see stability here over watching coaches being fired after winning their division twice...

I thought it was the best in the SEC etc, doing things the right way.

Or is it because Burt has had as much attrition as anyone?

The two best APR scores have been turned in by Bert, the most recent has been a program best 966.

Win 2 out of the last 3 games and fire his arse next year if he doesn't win 9.

That'll do it for me.

Thankfully LaTech is having a shitty year. I would hope that would keep these folks on his bandwagon, for whatever head in the sand reason, from being able to get enough BOT votes to approve him.

It's funny you say that because 9 was the number I had pegged for what he had to win THIS YEAR. Giving him one more is just that. Giving him a pass in year 5.

The initial coaches poll this year had us playing 6 teams not ranked in the top 61. You gotta win all those games in year 5. Otherwise, you aren't in the top 61.

Then, you need to split the games against good competition. Just give me a .500 record against quality opponents in your fifth damn year. That isn't asking for much. Just being good. Not great.

He needed to win 9 this year. The moment he lost his 4th game he was done in my eyes. No turning back.

It's setting an expectation and demanding you achieve it. It's what he promised to do when he was hired. Hell, it's less than that. He told us he would have us contending for an SEC title this year!! He failed miserably. In every respect.

He gets paid like 12,000 dollars a day. You don't get to fail at your job and earn that income. WE pay for that shite.

Yes please, just heard his name pop up again today along with Norvell.

I don't want either, but they're pulling some weight at the moment.

Frank gave Nutt a 2 year pass, and if Nutt wasn't such an idiot we were set with Mustain, DMAC, and Felix.

Coach speak BS. "I came here to win the SEC and that's what I'm gonna do"

He won the presser, who gives a frick?

Dude is toast and knows it, even with his yankee elitist attitude.

I want his arse gone but from what I'm hearing timing is off for a legit hire and not a band-aid.

Give me a legit coach and not a damn band-aid

What will be written on the tombstone of his stay at Arkansas. Bielema, for a variety of reasons, just was the wrong coach for us.

He didn't get the culture of the SEC. He didn't get the pace that football is played down here. He didn't get the rich history of Arkansas football. He didn't get the importance of the few Little Rock games left. He didn't get the importance of not pissing off every high school in Texas.

He didn't get it.

No, it wasn't coach speak. It was his "plan" that he sold to his boss in his interview for this job.

Coaches outline their goals and how they expect to achieve them. If answers are satisfactory, terms are set, contracts are signed.

He told Jeff Long, and the entire state, that he was going to "outwork" his opponents (lmao), develop a strong redshirt and walk-on program, and build a championship caliber team in year 5. THIS YEAR.

For his efforts we pay him TWELVE THOUSAND frickING DOLLARS PER DAY to achieve those ends, and he has failed.

He doesn't deserve another goddamn day up there let alone another year.

He missed his mark so damn bad it reminds me of the time I got my first girlfriend pregnant. It was bad because she was dead set against pregnancy. In fact, you could say she was anal about it. I missed big time. And it cost me

Sorry for your partying.

Bert jumped into big boy football and failed.

Should be lot's of hot irons in the fire in the SEC.

Watch what you wish for, it could be worse.

It was just a joke. Couldn't figure out how to work it in there without it seeming awkward. So I said frick it, go with awkward. This is Arkansas football.

On the subject of Bielema. frick him. I think the high school coach down the road in Greenland could do a better job.

Or at least get us similar results for a lot less money.

The Holtz thing has zero seriousness behind it. He has one, MAYBE two guys that threw his name out there and that's it, and these are old timers that don't play by the same rules as the newer blood (ie theyre old school and won't try to go behind JL's back and make a move). Don't worry about Skip Holtz, we can officially remove that rumor/myth from our repitoire.

I wouldn't mind Norvell and would probably talk myself into being excited about the hire, he's just not my first choice. You may think he'll flame out and he certainly has a chance to just like any coach, but it's better than the one we KNOW won't work. Even if you give him a 25% chance to succeed here on a certain level(and I'd really put it at about 50-75%) that's still better than the 0% we're currently sitting at.

You take the chance and see what happens, there's absolutely no sure thing out there other than maybe Saban. The next great coach is out there somewhere and we won't know unless we dig him up ourselves, we're not poaching one after he's already winning big somewhere else. Hell even if he is winning somewhere else it doesn't mean he will here, as we know all too well. We HAVE to try guys in the same vein as Norvell if we want to find our long-term guy that fits UofA just right, no way around it.

Let's say Frost goes to UF and Morris to A&M, both fairly likely at this point. That leaves us and Tennessee on about the same plane, OM is gonna have to hire from waaaay below or stick with Luke. Campbell is still out there, Leach is still out there, Norvell is still out there, Fuente is still out there, Kiffin, Venables, Mendenhall, Babers, so on and so forth.

This "too many openings" BS is just that, BS. There is zero reason to worry about the other openings unless they just happen to land literally everyone on your list, and there's STILL plenty of options. This is that "lil ole Arkansas" feeling manifesting itself and I can assure you the guys that make this stuff happen can't and don't think this way.

I'm hearing the BOT meeting in LR could be interesting in that Long's contract won't roll past 2022 this year and he will be informed that help will be given in the upcoming coaching search.

Here comes Holtz down the back stretch, Norvell moving to inside, Gus and Lashlee trying not to fall...

If we are set on going after an up and comer then the guy I heard from the jump may be in play.

Give me Venables.
