Are you going to get all the facts wright?

I sure hope he uses a spell checker. I think this is the dude that used to post on Hawgsports. He would post a big write up that none of us would read.

Morrison should be able to load our roster with Texas talent. If he can keep the few D1 players that we produce, keep our footprint that we're developing in Louisiana and build us a Texas pipeline then our recruiting woes are over for a while.

Shields comes out of the woodwork after 3 years. Still don’t know who he is

Every coaching search all that's talked about is how important it is for us to recruit Texas. This is the first time in a long time we've actually committed to that philosophy.

Idk what to think or whether to even fully believe it yet until the presser. I think the potential is there if we land the support staff to go along with him.

I'm excited about the prospect of recruiting TX hard again. His Assoc HC/RB Coach Traylor is said to be big time with the HS kids down there.

I think he could be our coach for a long time. He'll surprise people by winning on the field, while winning them over off of the field. He does have a bit of a reputation as a job hopper, but it's doubtful that he'll leave for his alma mater any time soon.
I also like that he has a degree in mathematics. Our last coach to have a degree in mathematics was Bobby Petrino.

Morris' first two classes of recruits at SMU were all from Texas high schools, making SMU the only school in the country with all-Texas recruiting classes during that time.

Bear with me. I'm getting there.

I had hoped to land Norvell to be honest. You have to wonder if there is any truth to the rumors going around about the guy that neither Ole Miss, Arkansas, or even the woeful Vols offered the gent.
One thing is certain though, we are going all in on Texas at the moment. We just snagged SMU's head coach and Houston's AD. It looks like we are going for more of a SW then SE direction for the program and that makes sense.
While we managed to snap up some very good players from the SE we haven't been able to consistently land top level talent from the Deep South. Recruiting Texas hard might be the only way that Arkansas can begin to stockpile enough athletes to win in the SEC.

I didn't know much about Morris...but after studying him pretty close I like him BETTER than Norvell.
Primarily his experience at Clemson. He's been where we want to go. That matters.
His offense is at least as dynamic and either would need a D-Coord. Frankly, we we can't hire a top 15 D-Coordinator at Arkansas, it won't matter who the HC is. At least this one will let the D-Coord do his thing.
I'm in, but have been burned enough to just relax and watch for 3-4 years. Ain't much left for next year.
