Can you imagine the amount of tweets in your feed if you were in Brett's position? Probably pretty overloaded and cluttered.
I will say he probably shouldn't be tweeting so much himself, but he has to have twitter due to the recruiting. Also, if I were him, I'd probably block ALL 'news/reporters.' Too much distraction.

It is amazing how so many posters in this thread don't take this into consideration

As a high profile person, I would think you'd use Twitter only for the occasional message you want to get out. You don't have to follow the people who follow you. Blocking them is sort of petty.

I don't expect any of those types of people to read or respond to tweets.

It's easy to have an anon Twitter if you really want to follow others for news.

There's a lot of trash on twitter, and I can definitely understand someone blocking users in the event that personal insults, racial epithets, vitriol or threats of violence are mentioned, but blocking DJ Williams in this situation for a comment that mundane and inoffensive comes off as profoundly petty.

DJ probably shouldn't have brought it to the fore, but again, he is a fantastic ambassador for Razorback athletics and possesses a good deal of inherent credibility. He's shown no penchant for being a troll or even the least bit negative as it pertains to Bielema or the program.

Inversely, let's not act like Bert has a stellar reputation or history when it comes to social media. He spent basically the first 6 months on the job here getting into twitter fights with rustled Wisconsin fans. If you (meaning anyone in our fan base) didn't find that off-putting at the time, I don't know what to tell you.

He didn't respond to me but I stand by my tweet. Pretty petty to call him out like that.

It's his fricking job to call out fatass and his methods.... That exactly what he gets paid for. What the frick is wrong with you people that think a former player can't be critical of a program he dearly loves and wants to see it succeed.

Fatass is the petty little bitch here. His dumbass is the one who ignited DJs response with his, yet again, dipshit halftime quote.

I guess some just don't understand how sports media works. This isn't Pravda boys and girls.

Got realize if you have followed Bielema's twitter account history that if you get tagged in or join a conversation you are likely to be shrapnel thus get blocked. It is not some new thing much like his weight.

This is what happened. DJ was most likely part of a chain that got blocked in its entirety, happens all the time. I doubt CBB himself even manages his twitter like that himself anyway, he probably just types the tweets every now and then.

Even if CBB himself intentionally blocked DJ, who the hell cares?! It's social media, he didn't tell him to frick off IRL. It's petty as hell to take it public like DJ did - especially when he doesn't even know the circumstances - but I still like the guy. This is much ado about nothing.

ok, since this has become a thing. which is terribly boring in and of itself.

I called the UofA, (wont say who I called) and CBB does not control all of his twitter, in fact he rarely posts on it. There is a social media team that does.

This has been blown way out of control and yes.. to Jack, it is his job to point out things, but not make something personal public. One call is all would have taken poor little DJ. Love the kid, but he needs some grown up guidance here.

Well considering many thought Bert did it himself because he has "thin skin", so did many others

Awesome. Some people that obviously have no fricking clue in regard to football are the social media ambassadors for Arkansas Football. Sounds about right.

no, not at all. But there are a lot of butt hurt individuals who want to blame CBB for everything since he is not up to their perspective yet. Nor mine in "on the field success".

So to set the matter as straight as possible C'est la vie

Just the way life goes....

Exactly, there is plenty of criticism to throw his way for his on the field results. Some posters are just projecting their angry at the results which I get and agree it isn't good enough. This thread reminds me of the Mike Anderson mic'ed up thread.
