Glad we agree. One of the main ones here that does it is fat frick Hawgeye, one of the ones you were defending

I'm not sorry for calling him out on it publicly and I'll keep doing it for as long as I see fit

Sounds like you know what you are seeing. What all needs to change? Recruiting? Scheme? Coaching basics? if we don't change our DC, what does he need to do differently or his coaches do differently on the defensive side of the ball?

Worst fundamentals are in the secondary from what I've seen. Might at least be time for a change there.
We have played a little bit more 4 down look this year (probably because they knew that Hampton isn't a 2 gap NG).
It just seems like our entire defense is predicated on the idea that we will be ok with giving up yardage and then take a gamble to get a stop or a turnover. Problem is we aren't getting enough of either to make a difference in the last 3 games.
I've never been a 3 down lineman fan.... at lest not the way we are doing it with a 3-2 box and lots of nickel/hybrid backs. It puts us in a lot of negative mismatches even when we go to the 4-2 nickel look. Then we don't have the common sense to check out of it when they catch us tipping our hat to the blitz and we have a safety on their fastest WR playing 8 yards off and with bad leverage. We never had a chance to cover that slant.

I hate to ever call for coaches to be fired but our defense is a joke.

agreed...

TO see the fight in the 3rd quarter from our offense was a plus To watch our D get burned over and over was humiliating to say the least

The fact that this staff has had 3 years to recruit and we still have former walk ons starting in the secondary should be a huge red flag, especially given the new rules with the portal.

wrong

the first recruiting class, 2020, was thrown together out of desperation, which would have beaten down any of the best coaching staffs in America

having a few months to sign a class after what Chad Morris did to our program? You call that a one year result of recruiting?

Again, this forum is worse than Hogville MMQB, who are the biggest pussies on the planet, sorry, second biggest pussies on the planet.

and you're calling "facts" on how you responded to the "previous walkons" post?

Because why is Hudson Clark a continual strawman? He's played his arse off this year.

"walkon" on this forum has become a sissy excuse for fricking sissies who don't have an arguement

should we discontinue the walkon program?

The walk-on program should be encouraged more.

I don't understand the negativity towards players that were former walk-ons.

Some of our best players use to be walk-ons.

yep, It shouldn't be an insult to be called a walkon. Brandon Burlsworth was incredible. Such a sad ending, dude was awesome!

I don’t have a problem with walk ons, but you’d think it would be reserved for people who were 5th year seniors to start. Hudson Clark has been on the field since his freshman year. Which says how down bad we were, and still are.

To use the old Lou Holtz quote — we return a lot of experience, but the downside is that it’s bad experience
