You can't trust a coach. Remember saban said he would not be the Alabama coach.

There's too much smoke around this for it to be untrue, it just may not be a "done deal" at this point. I still don't understand why coaches like to play coy in this situation and don't just say "yeah, I'm probably headed to Wake Forest barring something crazy happening. I've accepted the fact that I'll be giving it a shot elsewhere next season, and I thank Bielema and Arkansas for this opportunity."

I can't imagine any kind of negative consequences that would follow a statement or actions like the above, I'm not sure why coaches think they have to be so cryptic.

He would be in a pretty tough division at Wake as well (Clempson, Free Shoes, Louisville) so he would still have his work cut out for him.

Not cutting him slack, but he was pretty hamstrung by our LB situation this year - but part of that falls on him as well.

partridge has one year as a "co-DC" and when bielema brought him to arkansas, he didn't even retain that title. maybe there's a reason.

I'm not supporting Partridge over Rhodes. I just think Rhodes is the safest choice at the end of the day and will always be there. That isn't really a bad thing.

I'd say Rhoads, Partridge, or Diaco are the obvious choices. Bert has been known to pull some assistants completely out of left field though too.

The "problem" with Rhoads is that he could land another HC job at just about any time, only worsening our defensive woes with even more turnover. It also may benefit us more to bring in some fresh blood, i.e. Diaco.

ETA: Why isn't anyone discussing the separate blurb from footballscoop saying that they're hearing about more staff turnover as well? Hopefully it's referring to Segrest and/or Anderson.

The pay-per-click recruiting guys have been saying at least two folks will be leaving. It's assumed that is Smith and Segrest.

Things that make me nervous are some recent or possible openings that could pursue Enos or Smith. The Western Michigan HC position and the Iowa OC will probably both see Enos' name mentioned and if Dameyune Craig leaves LSU then they will probably revisit Smith again.

so last night I was told a different school for Smith. Same conference as wake.

What the heck... I am now confused.

Just watch this unfold, and Segrest is gone too if what I was told comes to fruition. Bert is still looking to find Segrest a spot. But, those two may not be all.

Rhoads has been inquired about as well. I thought he had another season or 2 that he couldn't be HC without harming the buyout, so would he leave for another assistant job after just one year in Arkansas?

Hearing anything on Enos or Smith? Those are really my only two concerns personally. I don't think Lunney is gong anywhere and everyone else is replaceable in my opinion.
