Well the guy who is the subject of this thread is only in his 4th year as a D1 HC right? I had never heard of him when UALR got him from Angelo State.

Eh, he has spent a ton of time as an assistant D1 schools and its good experience under good coaches. It is his weakness but he is really solid everywhere else. I have no issue hiring someone in their mid 50s or lower, after that I'm not a big fan.

To be clear, Forbes isn't my top choice, he is my top choice when it comes to mid-major coaches.

Yep, and that is part of the counter to the lack of experience. You take a risk but get a nice reward on begin the first to jump on it. That situation was also unique in the sense Chris had spent a long time at Tech.

Meh! Keep in mind how long Beard has been at tech.. compare that to the amount of time CMA has been at Arkansas...

If that made any fricking sense... I would applaud, otherwise.. go back on your hiatus please.

Damsun! Comparing Coach K and Barnes to the success/lack of success of CMA? I think you are proving my point. Beard has experienced more success quicker. Cant believe I need to explain it to ya. "Mikehadashortinitgif"

Beard is a good coach, but he damn near lost to Mike Anderson on his home floor. He SHOULD HAVE lost to Mike Anderson on his home floor after being favored to win by 10.

In Bud Walton Las Vegas would have told you that was an 18 point win for the Hogs last night.

Go Chris Beard!!

No thanks. Need someone better than Beard to get where everyone wants to go.

And yes, I expect this point to go over everyone's head.

ETA: Oddsmakers believe that home court advantage is worth 10 points in the game of basketball. Texas Tech was favored by 10. Which means that the Oddsmakers believe Texas Tech and Arkansas to be pretty evenly matched.

I agree. We need to fire the guy who is 100% Hog and go hire someone from the state of Texas who won't do any better.

This is another argument that doesn't hold any water.

These same guys will be the first ones to tell you that you don't need 8 years to build something. OK then, Beard has his team built. And should have lost to Arkansas on his home floor last night.

You're trying to have it both ways, Rev, and you don't even see it.

We are agreed that a coach doesn't need 8 years to build a good program. So comparing the coach's respective times at their program is irrelevant. Both coaches have their team in place.

Also, I'm pretty sure that Beard will need to make the tournament as a 5 seed or better this year to be on the same track as Anderson.

You might want to check Tech’s roster. For someone that likes to call people dumb, you sure have some uninformed takes.

In terms of what matters, NCAA tournament wins, Beard has far surpassed what Mike has done at Arkansas.

How does this make any sense? In Beard's second year he got a better seed than Anderson has ever had here. It was only Beard's second year. It took Anderson 4 years to make the tournament, Beard will have two in his first 3 years.

I understand if someone doesn't want to target Beard. I don't think he would leave even if we did but currently Beard is a better coach than Mike. That really isn't something that is subjective.

He's good. No doubt. I've never said otherwise.

However, he should have lost on his home floor last night. Mike Anderson is good too. I'm excited to see this current team mature. I think they'll eventually be a very, very good basketball team.

Dude, now your just talking out of your azz...

Nevermind, Covered above my post.

Cmon man. IN less time, better seeding in the tourney, …

and better development at a faster pace.

But, I agree, we have some talent on this team that I wish and hope gets developed better by someone.
