So about that 501c3. Who wants in. And who is telling the money guys where to put it. We'll run it like the breast cancer foundation.

80% donations to marketing(player NIL sponsorships)

10% to our cause(homelessness is always good we can just pass through to habitat for humanity if we wanna be real lazy)

10% to our salaries for managing all of this mess.

I'm looking at 24/7 and it says at 18.

Average is lower than several teams behind us though, which means we'll probably fall behind them once they fill up. As long as we keep having success in the transfer portal I think we can recruit like we are and still have success because that totally changes things. It's basically a free shot on 7 extra players per year that before we essentially had to fill in with a walk-on.

Then you're looking at composite and not 247's.

Precisely why I don't like to use composite as well.

He was being sarcastic. ESPN laid off 3/4 of their recruiting guys over the last 2 years.

The only thing that always stays the same is everyone always cites whoever ranks us best.

I know, I was making a joke that ESPN is most favorable to us in basketball with this upcoming class

That isn't the case here.

This board has always used 247. People just get confused with composite and 247s actual rankings.

Isn't composite more accurate?

247 is the most accurate and has been for a long time.

Could start to change if On3 keeps taking more 247 people though.

In theory yes.

In practice it's all very subjective anyways, more like baseball scouting days of old than anything scientific.

So it kinda works like this

24/7 is the gold standard of recruiting information.

Rivals is typically second fiddle these days since 24/7 is all the people that msde rivals great originally anyways.

Scout is next probably but not by their diligence and more my ESPNs total lack of effort and commitment to doing anything decent with recruiting.

So think of it more like a stock portfolio composite uses information like an index fund a little bit of all of it and takes in the most information from all the reporters covering recruiting.

However given that the composite weights the opinion of ESPN and 24/7 the same, doesn't that just dilute the gold standard? Why not follow the best and forget the rest?

With all that said we're whatever our highest ranking is anyway so don't worry too much about it.

Yep this is what I do. 247 is head and shoulders the best so I don't want a ranking with espn scout etc thrown in there deluding the best guys in the business that are all at 247.
