There's one thing that a major league manager does that's highly important and basically makes or breaks a manager and that's how they handle the pitching staff and more importantly, the bullpen. DVH would never be a major league manager based on what I've seen over the years.

I think pulling Lockhart may have been the right move. I know it's up for debate, and obviously Costieu was a mistake in hindsight but Lockhart had been throwing wild and had runners on 2nd and 3rd already. Won't defend Costieu too much because he served 3 up, but all those HR AB's started at 0-2 or 1-2 counts in his favor.
Also, we didn't waste Kopps by throwing 20 pitches . And after hearing that wick was calling for the ball Sunday against Nebraska, I bet we could get 6-7 innings out of Kopps/Wick Sunday if needed. Wiggins, Vermillion are both fresh, and Lockhart, Noland, Tole, Monke can all go again.
As has been said, our batting was the problem.

How often do you win with 1 base hit against a 4 ERA guy?
We will do better Sunday and close this thing out.

I hope we pull it off today. I want to have confidence in these guys as they have proven themselves time and time again, but I be damned I'm just so used to us shitting the bed. Its hard to get past that snake biten feeling.

It would be the most Arkansas thing ever to out score a team by 18 runs and still lose a series.

NC state gave up the Friday game at 7-1 to try and save what was left in their bullpen to somehow scrape together 2 games. They gave us their best shot with the pitchers they threw yesterday and still ended up getting lucky be only had one base hit outside of the one we reached on error. And after all that, we lost by a run. We got this today

I’m trying to tell myself we got everything they had left yesterday and we will be fine. It’s not the team I’m worried about... it’s the Arkansas juju that seems to always have some dumb thing happen to Derain a good season. I’m hoping this team rises above that crap and gets it done!

The only thing that worries me is they have probably their best lefty still in the pen who has gone 70+ pitches in games this year. Need to get to the starter some before he comes in.

They are starting the same guy from game 1. They obviously don’t have much pitching that they trust. If we can get them to their 3rd option today we should be fine

Just have a bad feeling bats are going to be cold as frick and undisciplined. We have a big game doing what we’re supposed to do then everyone starts swinging for the fences again like the Regional.
Can’t stand watching us hacking away at balls when we have done the opposite all year. Super frustrating.

I think Friday got in everyone's heads and they thought they could just show up yesterday and NC State would fold and bow at their feet without even trying.

it’s frustrating but was pretty predictable. Has we been disciplined, let some guys walk to get on, put pressure on them throughout the game, they would have folded.
We didn’t do that at all for 2-3 innings, gave them all the momentum with that RC disaster and still almost won.
I just don’t even know what’s going to happen today but if we swing like the regional and yesterday, we’re staying home.

Arkansas hasn't swept a super regional since 2009.

We are the better team. Arkansas gets back to normal after an unusual day on Friday.
The only way this team loses today if they go full meltdown, they haven't done it all year and I expect no different today. So much is riding on this game and this team has too much grit to lose in a game like this.

Part of Friday was by nc states choice. They stopped trying to win after we hung 6 or 7 on them and started throwing us bp pitchers as well

That’s where I’m at- I really want them to win but it’s been fun watching them this season, the domination and just the environment like the world is somehow kinda normal again.
