Just reported, Long also just left Pulaski Tech. He was called in after 90 minutes, in the meeting for about an hour, then sat in hallway for nearly an hour before leaving.

RazorBronc, Rev, Anyone else,

Anyone hearing anything about financial issues and deceiving the board regarding the expansion? Or is that just far fetched rumor? Also any truth to the rumor of insurance fraud surrounding RWIII?

Is the no action taken a subtle hint that they aren't "taking action" in renewing JL's contract?

Maybe he was telling Bert to find a moving company.

Wow, so if the rumors about the insurance policy are true, then no wonder the decision on Long was tabled.

BTW, his contract is up this summer, if I am correct.. at least the original with an out is.

and the executive session lasted over 2 hours longer than scheduled.

So, nothing released to the news folks yet, all is very quiet and Long didn't look very pleased by all reports.

I have texted a few folks, but crickets. I am usually not a conspiracy theorist, but when things are this quiet, something is happening.

Is this RW3 thing another bogus internet rumor or does it have real truth behind it?

What's the claim? I've only seen it mentioned. No specifics.

I just read it in that thread in the SECr. Some LSU poster is claiming Long botched the insurance paperwork for RW3 so the BOT has the ability to fire him with cause.

Sounds like nonsense to me. I doubt they're looking for reasons to get rid of him. I mean, I could be wrong, but firing Long is not a good thing.

Same here, although I get a response that's along the lines of "we don't know yet either/very quiet so far." I expected this would be the case if it went badly for JL or certain things were left up in the air, but it doesn't mean anything solid just yet considering the meeting(s) are/were today. I think they might be waiting to see how some things play out in the short term before making any sort of finalized move on JL - but that's just my somewhat educated gut feeling.

From the little detail I've heard regarding the expansion "rumors" the truth lies somewhere in between like most of these things. There was some sort of discrepancy in the $$$ figures that Long originally brought but it either wasn't intentional or they have reason to believe JL wasn't the responsible party. I don't think this is a primary reason the board didn't make a move today but he was most definitely grilled over it.

The RWIII thing seems to have caught everyone off-guard or it's been kept extremely under wraps, no idea if there's truth behind it yet. I'd say that there's at least some sort of legs behind it, but it's hard to gauge just how much of it is true or exaggerated with all the mudslinging and power moves going on right now. I'll dig in and try to find out more now that it's out there.

If this isn't some crap show. So, I did get a text that simply said,
"There is more truth there than rumor, things got heated today and things were tabled by the board until a later time"

That is all I got. so in other words, NOTHING!

All drama all the time here at Arkansas. I wish we could just have a normal firing of a football coach instead of burning the place to the ground each time.

A BOT cannot "fire" or "keep" an A.D. They don't have that authority. They can offer a vote of confidence and that's it. They can fire a university president or chancellor, but they have no authority to dismiss Long.

That's why when people started scrambling about this story, most rational people knew not to get their hopes up for fireworks.

Bret is gone. That's a fact. Now they should make a move on Long soon so they can get an A.D. in place for the next head coaching job search.
