All drama all the time here at Arkansas. I wish we could just have a normal firing of a football coach instead of burning the place to the ground each time.

GOBN hard at work this time.

Started with the firing of Bob, then the hiring of Smile.

Jeff took away the BM donors Coke, took away their tailgating spots, prohibited them for flying their company advertising banners, raised ticket prices, asked them to "answer the call" among other things.

When Nutt was here they had more control, Jeff keeps things close to his vest and they hate it.

Jeff hired Bert, it isn't working, they pissed, could be an epic shite storm, that leaves us in another ditch.

A BOT cannot "fire" or "keep" an A.D. They don't have that authority. They can offer a vote of confidence and that's it.

They can't fire the AD technically, but ultimately they'll make the call.

Jeff Long -> expansion -> UofA system $$$ spent -> BOT

Jeff Long -> football program -> UofA system's biggest $$$ earner -> BOT

And they don't care about the money so they can afford some badass windbreakers and practice jerseys for the Hog football team or an $8 million per year coach at the UA, the entire University of Arkansas system booms when the Hogs are good and the academic donations come rolling in. It also dips a little at times like these where everyone is a little deflated.

The BOT absolutely can/will make the call on Long - and CBB to a lesser extent.

As much as it’s blamed on him because the sporting events the Coke change wasn’t a Jeff move.

The University worked that deal.

The thought of the GOBN trying to make a hire frightens me. I can only imagine what kind of trainwreck they’ll lead us in to.

It certainly appears headed that way.

I know that, you know that and the BM Donors know that.
It doesn't keep them from stirring the pot for people that don't know it.

Jeff will be allowed to finish the NEZ and to make a new hire, much to the chagrin of the GOBN and the sheep.

That one of the names they were bandying about was Skip Holtz is telling. No insult intended to Skip, he's a fairly decent G5 coach, but by now we've all seen enough of his body of work to know he's not going to be the guy to win consistently at a P5 level.

If Skip was one of the guys they are interested in...

I've posted this before, heard it again today from a BM Donor.

I work for lot's of them, eavesdrop, bite my tongue, cringe and move on.

Matt Jones from Whole Hog Sports is reporting it's good till 2022

His contract is set up like the MS HC's where there is always 5 years remaining on his contract, in other words unless it is voted to not extend his contract, it will be good through 2023, if they vote to not extend it it will be good through 2022.

The only other issues for vote would be approving a new contract that would likely be the result of a raise as his first 2 contracts had the 5 year provision in it.

The length of his last new contract was 5 years and would expire this year, but the devil is in the details.

Kinda like Bert's 15 million dollar buyout that isn't and as I said from the beginning his buyout wouldn't be the deciding factor...

Whoever the UA has drafting these contracts is doing a good job creating the big head line strawman with each one...

No ditch is bigger than the one that Jeffrey dug for himself, GOBN or me can bring our Trac-ho to bury the #NeverYield signs and Pumba Hog gear
