Yep. And everyone here has to remember, the BoT run the entire university system, not just the Fayetteville campus, almost all of higher ed in Arkansas. I would expect any conversation about Bert/Long to have been brief. They have a lot on their plate.

If they spent more than 5 minutes talking about Long/Bert I would be highly disappointed in our higher ed decision makers.

This is true, however I hope folks don't think for one minute that discussions weren't had concerning all of the above. If I were a betting man, this got heated.

Reasons...
1. The expansion progress, costs and analysis are not going as was planned or projected.
2. The insurance thing has some validity to it as well, how much? don't know..
3. The product on the football field is atrocious.
4. Fan discontent, publicly being embarrassed by the media accounts in the past few weeks.
5. Don't forget that Pryor was against, or had strong reservations concerning the expansion prior to being approved, he now has some ammunition.

so, yes... they cant fire Long or CBB, but they can make dang sure it happens...

All drama all the time here at Arkansas. I wish we could just have a normal firing of a football coach instead of burning the place to the ground each time.

Yep, dysfunction at it's finest... crazy

According to Tyler Thomason, Long never entered the executive session, per BOT member. Only Steinmetz went in.

that is odd, I was told he went in for around 30 minutes and then waited around outside for a bit on the phone prior to leaving. Wouldn't answer any questions, simply left.

Wow. Listening to Bo's show at the moment and they've really been talking a lot about Long being in trouble. They're not coming right out and saying it, but it feels like setting the stage for Long to be out of here.

That surprises me. But hey, if that's what the suits think is best, so be it.

Are we under the impression that bo is mouth piece for the higher ups, and is solely meant to persuade public opinion?

Well you just made an arse of yourself. These are political appointees. They don't give a frick about UACC-Hope campus income statement. They are only on the BoT to meddle in athletics.

It is disappointing but true. Folks like Jim Lindsey, Tommy Boyer, etc are all former UA athletes with strong ties to Broyles and company, and thus strong feelings about how our athletic department should be run

Also if you think the BoT doesn't hire/fire you are dead wrong. The chancellor, etc all take marching orders from the BoT. If they refuse, they'll just fire the chancellor and get someone else to do it. Or make his life a living hell until he gives in

Sorry folks. The BoT is the most political, infighting, chickenshit board in all of Arkansas. They don't give a frick about academics or any other campus but UA.

Lindsey isn't a BOT member... But your point is correct to an extent.

They are absolutely responsible legally for any educational decisions and oversight in UofA system concerning higher learning. However, Money is the main determent to having better institutes of higher learning. And athletics is definitely a large part of that in most situations, as well as PR...
