Sam was a badarse when he was here with our OL. Thoughts on him being our HC and bringing in an awesome DC?

Loves Arkansas. Has let it be known that he would come back. Just didn't see eye to eye with Bielema. We're
talking about a guy that turned down Saban to stay here before he had the run in with Bert.

Seen a bunch of former plays wanting him as well.

Interesting.

Still a gamble that we can't take right now though. I'd give anything for him to be on staff though.

He's a pretty damn good OL coach, but it would be too much of a gamble for where this program is at.

I'm trying to think if I can even remember seeing him speak publicly while he was here. He's just not ready for this big of a stage, I think a LOT of people would be upset with the hire.

Only way it could even POTENTIALLY pass the smell test would be with badass, top-notch coordinators.

I wouldn't hate it. There was a marked difference in our performance after he left. He and Enos were the two coaches you could feel were gone just by watching the team on the field. If the home run hires don't work out this wouldn't bother me.

frick Mike Irwin with a splintered baseball bat.

Worthless hack who spent years sucking off Long and Bielema while Rome burned.

If it means a Chaney offense again, hard pass.

Hell yes if we invest real $$$$ into a SEC level and experienced staff of assistants around him.

Mario Cristobal is probably similar to what the hope would be for Sam. Mario is still very hands on with the Oregon OL even as HC.

Agreed, I have spoke to pittman in person a couple of times. Dude have immediate legitimacy with the players, a cool persona with the kids as well.

And he can coach the Oline like no other. With the correct staff, he would do well.

But NO CHANEY!!!!!

I saw him speak a few times. Not many though. I agree with you too.

Too much risk for where the program is at. I can't believe Irwin would push this. He's become the guy people tell absurd shite to and he just takes it and rolls with it calling himself a journalist.

Wouldn’t mind him as an OC. But a first time head coach when you know Chaney would be OC? No thanks. Can’t hire a position coach to be a head coach if you’re an SEC program IMO.

This. If we hire someone who runs the offense then name Pittman as OC and let him have a little longer leash and more responsibilities than OL coach. Then hire a legit DC and let him run his show.

If this is the caliber of coach we are looking for then we are in very serious trouble. Pittman is great but we need a game changer.
