Michigan's defense lauded as best in country, does everything opposite of ARK.

Just catching a bit of Ohio St./Michigan here and there, but they're heaping all kinds of praise on the Michigan D and they play literally the exact opposite way of our Defense.
Play press man on the WR. The catch I saw KJ Hill make they gave a big cushion and Herbstreit was griping about why would they give such a cushion on 3rd down. Sounded a lot like our fans questioning our defense.
They have quick strong DT's that get into the backfield and make plays. They set the edge against the rush, they blitz.
They have fast roving LB that play well in space, blitz, and wrap up tackles.
we're fools for supporting Long and Bielema.

Robb Smith doesn't coach at Michigan and their recruiting is worlds apart from ours.

It's almost like they have way more talent than us

But Robb Smith had that 1 good year with all of those shitty BMFP recruits

Virtually their entire defense is made up of 4* and 5* players. Definitely not similar situations.

Based on what Smith did with Flowers, Speight and Philon he'd actually be a badass with the talent Michigan has

Well then I don't want to see a single SOB say that Bert is recruiting better than anyone ever has at Arkansas.
Trading 4*'s for Micahh Smith, walkons and UCA level talent is what we're settling for. If recruiting is the key for other schools, maybe we should make it a priority here.

Their recruiting great now but I'm pretty sure they weren't a top 10 recruiting power when hoke was there and these are mostly his players

Hoke was actually a very good recruiter...he had a #4 and #6 class while he was there. He was just an incomepetant coach, but left the cupboard stock full of talent, that's why so many upper classman are playing for Harbaugh

It is entirely possible that he is recruiting better than Petrino by a large margin, and better than Nutt who is actually a decent recruiter, but fails at everything after that while the opponents in the SEC West have also increased their recruiting efforts and results as has been the case.
OM and MSU's recruiting was dog shite before O arrived at OM and after MSU was busted under Sherril, Mullen has done a good job recruiting for his system there. OM has dropped back to their pre-O norm this season due to the NCAA investigation.
Saban at bama is on a level that can't be defined compared to their recruiting prior to him back to 2000.
Auburn is recruiting better now than they did under Tubs, they've gone all in on the recruiting front but it hasn't exactly equated to more success than Tubs had outside of 2010.
LSU has locked up LA which wasn't the case pre-saban, O will likely keep the gates closed, if he can't they will go back to 80s-90s form while their talent flocks to Bama, FSU, Tennessee, etc like happened back then.
Aggy is actually competing with Texas and OU for the prized recruits in Texas, something that didn't occur on as regular basis as it does now while they were in the SWC or the Big12.
The landscape has also changed with OSU, Baylor, TCU, and Houston's rise to relevancy in regards to recruiting Texas. Herman did a good job of keeping Houston talent at home, one would guess depending on their hire the grounds will open back up creating an opportunity to fight Texas, LSU, and Aggy for some of these players.
For whatever reason we've had more success recruiting east Texas than the DFW metroplex historically.

The transition from what Hoke had in place to what Harbaugh runs was less drastic than from Rich Rod to Hoke too.

Bert is a joke. I'm against him. We will be mediocre til this fat frick leaves. We should have already got over the hump and he squandered his chances with poor hires and being Ill prepared.

If the fat frick actually makes no change s to the staff, then he better win 10 games next year or he's fricking fired.

0 chance this happens

His chance to win 10 games was last year. He should have won atleast 8 or 9 in 2014.
This team this year is a 7 win team. It will take bret another 3 years to build up to what last year was. If he even gets that long. The next coach will probably get to reap the benefits of fatass's last 2 years of recruiting when he is recruiting for his job and gets fired anyways because of his poor preparation.

If Houston and Baylor can rise to relevancy them why can't we! That'd just it dale if we had the right coach we could be something special. We have way more resources than those schools have and they have just as many recruiting disadvantages as we do if not more.

I'm ready in 2 years to fire bert and hire art briles. No one will give a shite by then. I don't care about perception. I care about wins and bert doesn't have very many or very many good ones.

Houston does well when the keep the talent in a very small radius of campus home, they can field a competitive team with recruiting trips taking less than a 1/4 tank of gas.
Several coaches have been able to do this and field good teams at Houston.
This is a large part why Houston was blocked from expansion in the big 12.
Baylor, well you need to look at their tactics, its worse and more wide spread than SMU in the 80s.
Its easy to look at just Arkansas and say well if this or that happened then this would have resulted.
Its hard to look at the big picture and then make the same arguments most times. While Arkansas has improved according to the recruiting rankings under Bert, the competition has also improved their rankings in the same period, which in result cancels itself out.
If we were recruiting to this level when Nutt took over, even with him as a coach we would have a couple SEC titles to show for it, they over all competition level was much less in 2000 than today.
Bert fricked himself by recruiting to slowly transition his team from what he thought Petrino had left (compared to what was on campus) to where he wanted to be. It actually slowed down the transition time to get the roster to what he wanted it to be. In the day of instant gratification and instant access to almost anything this approach can have dire consequences, just as blowing up the roster the day you arrive and doing a 180 in philosophy can have poor results as well (Strong at Texas).
Very few pay any attention to what really changes with a coaching change, yes, excitement occurs when a HC brings in "the answer" but it may not be the answer needed for immediate or short time frame results. Herman to LSU would be an example, they talk about how his offense would fix all of their problems yet no one asked if they actually have the personnel on campus that he could use to achieve immediate results, would he be able to get this roster in place in a short time frame? Would the defense regress while the offense is recruited meaning while they score on everybody, they can't stop any body, yielding similar records by different means of achieving them?
You constantly do 180s in philosophy you end up being Tennessee. You bring in a guy similar to what you had and you see the benefits like Hoke-Harbaugh, Strong-Petrino, likely Strong-Herman since Strong was recruiting more to the Texas HS system similar to Hermans offense.
Want to talk about "elite" coaches losing games they shouldn't, How did Petrino ever lose to Houston or this year's Kentucky team, his Louisville team has the best player in the game and was more talented than every one on their schedule except Clemson and finishes 9-3?

This team this year is a 7 win team.
Exactly.
In 2014 we were a 6-6 team that should've won at least 8 games. In 2015 we were a 7-5 team that should've won 10 games.
This year, we're a 7-5 team that arguably should've finished 5-7 or 6-6 with losses to La. Tech and/or TCU.
