Can we not do the wave at every Arkansas sporting event held in Little Rock?
Or is this non-negotiable?
(Re: Up 44-41 against USA and we've got the wave going on behind the goal we are trying to shoot FTs at)
(Re: Down 21-17 to Samford going into the 4th quarter, fans are starting the wave because. (?) )

If the NWA fans that are present wouldn't participate, it would die on it's own.

Dang, I didn't even really want to go there. I just want to know what LR's obsession with the wave is.

Don't blame us. It's the Benton and Cabot people responsible for that embarrassment.
J/K Benton/Cabot people!
Not really...totally serious!

If you must know, I don't participate - I think it is stupid even in the 'correct' times, if there is one.
It was cool back in the day when it first started (when done at an appropriate time, of course.)
But don't blame it all on 'Little Rock', they would be doing it at DWRRRRRRRS if there wasn't a huge gap in the end of the stadium and the folks in the upper decks weren't scared of plunging to their death with any sudden movements.

Whats the excuse for why it never happens in BWA then?

You can't expect a group of people to act like they've been there before when they actually haven't. A majority of these country rubes have either never been to a big sporting event and it's a once in a lifetime thing for them or get to go once in a blue moon because they've sacrificed their lottery fund for the whole year to be there. Either way it may be a once in a lifetime opportunity for them to live something that they think goes on in a real sporting event because they saw it on a 80's sports movie VHS one time.

Can we just not play in little rock anymore at all the one game deal is still far too much.

I guess because they had enough show up at Verizon to do the wave. Hasn't been the case at BWA so far this year - biggest crowd the Hogs have seen thus far this year was the crowd at Verizon.

Was pretty full against Michigan Missouri and Syracuse the past few years
No wave
No wave

Well let me put it this way - From a student's point of view, it is PAINFULLY obvious which stadium has a better atmosphere. I am from 15 minutes from WMS and I'm not afraid to tell you that the atmosphere there just feels so "off" all the time. It's very hard to describe.
And while the crowd at Verizon arena may have been the biggest all year, you can imagine so when they only get one game per year. If Fayetteville only had one game per year, I'm sure the crowd would be much larger. Also, for the largest crowd of the season, I'd venture to say it was the quietest. One of the deadest crowds I've ever been a part of.
(The answer is yes, I've bit the bait hard.)

Don't mind WonderWart, he's actually an Arkansas State fan and hates the U of A.

BallHawg10,
I am writing to inform you that, after careful consideration, your request has been denied.

Stone, contrary to your belief - I don't hate the UA. I am a Hog fan every bit as deep as any one on here. I was so pissed I cried when Texas beat us in '69. I have been there for the highs and lows and everything in between.
It's not the UA that ticks me off - it's some of the 'fans'. The 'better than thou' ones. I don't start any shite with them, but true to my redneck heritage - I'm not going to listen to much of it either.
As far as stAte goes, they represent the state every bit as much as UA does, albeit on a smaller stage. Damn right I'm going to root for them to win their games against any out of state school (which is everybody on their schedule.)
I root for the whole state, not just a tiny corner of it. There are two boys on the ASU roster from my small little AA high school, and of course I am following them and rooting for them. I haven't done a roster to roster analysis, no real reason to - but I wouldn't be too surprised if there are more Arkansas boys on the ASU roster than the UA's.
As long as the two aren't playing each other, there is NO reason a person can't root for both.
If you are too close minded to do so, so be it.

Ham, I have sat up there - felt MUCH safer in my deer stand, LOL.
Seriously, there's a pretty good rake to the upper decks.
Have a Merry Christmas!

this saying has always struck me funny.
so you're saying nobody is better than anybody and everyone is equal? you must love communism
honestly I think the people who complain about the so called better than thou crowd is just as bad as the crowd they're complaining about. I mean ok, so someone thinks they're better than you, so what. if they're better than you, try being humble enough to admit as much. if they're not better than you then you can laugh at them for being stupid. letting someone get to you for thinking they're better than you just shows your own insecurity's IMO. people should either know they're better than other people and not need to brag about it or they need to be humble enough to admit when someone is better than them

I root for the university of Arkansas be cause I'm a second generation alumni. The state of Arkansas is beautiful in some places but I'm not a fan or nor do I intend on supporting everything in the state. I could give two shits less about a state or how many kids each school has on the roster from arkansas.
