I have seen tons of people hurling abuse at Briles, and he does get too cutesy for his own good, but we are staring down the barrel of the second season in a row where our defense starts off strong and then people realize if you run straight at us and throw over the top you can name your own score.

We had WRs without a Hog defender within 15 yards of them... including with just over a minute left in the game. Ole Miss also rushed the ball at will on us. I know great offenses will be great, but at what point do you say people have figured out what we do on defense?

We do what we are best at on defense. If we lined up in a 4-3 it wouldn't have been any prettier. Probably would have been worse (if that's possible).

We have basically no depth in the defensive side the ball. Most of the big plays in the second half way from a backup or hobbled starter getting beat.

The defense is fine when protecting a lead, the depth isn't there to play from behind.

Some problem on offense, the wr depth and options is Nutt level. Burks is monk, the rest may catch a pass every now and then, no equal #2 or #3 options to keep the defense honest.

It's almost like this was a 2-10 team a couple years ago.

We are beat up in the back 7 and it's starting to show. We need that bye week and UAPB game to get healthy.

Until we drastically build quality depth defense will be a liability.

The transfers have easily been the best contributors on that side of the ball.

Our LBs play with a ton of effort. We need more talented ones to play with that same effort.

Will Odom help recruit us out of it?

He's proven he knows how to recruit that side of the ball everywhere he's been, it may not show up as 4&5* on paper but he finds players.

The amount of damage chaggy did to the roster can't be discounted.
