I was never giddy over Chad Morris. I don't know why anyone felt anything other than a quiet acceptance, his first recruiting class notwithstanding.

I remember saying on one if the forums if he failed to reach a bowl the first year with four cupcakes and highly beatable Vanderbilt, MSU, Ole Miss, and Missouri, then I would lose faith in his ability to do well. I was told I was retarded for thinking that.

I think Kiffin would be a decent, if not outright good, hire. I've honestly been nothing but optimistic this time, because almost every name thrown around I could live with.

That, and HY showed with Musselman that if he wasn't goijg to go out and get a heavy hitting name, he was at least going to get someone with a resume full of winning wherever they were at.

the reason I didn't think Leach had a chance in this search from the beginning. He wants someone who is hungry, ready to prove something. Not someone who is in it just for the $$ mostly.

Who does that fit. Kiffin, Norvell, are my top two. Campbell would have been but pie in the sky etc.

I think a lot of people focus more on his time as TT and not enough on his time at WSU. If he loses his bowl this year, four of his eight seasons at Washington State will be losing, with only one truly good year. He didn't fall under seven wins in ten years at Tech. He's obviously not the same caliber of coach. It happens to everyone. I would say WSU and Texas Tech arw about the same difficulty of job.

I've never wanted Leach, but also never though he was truly in the running.

I don't hate the hire (if it is). I very much prefer some other options and I don't cream my pants with the thought of Lane as our next coach like some. He is 1000% more qualified than Chad tho and if he is the coach I'll feel unsure but not pissed off like I was last time. Before he was even hired, when his name was coming up as a candidate, I looked at his credentials and realized that Chad was the most underqualified non-interim HC in Razorback history and that I have a lot of fear about how it's gonna turn out and it went worse than I could have possibly expected. I don't think anything can top how upset I was with that hire. I'm just gonna thank God we're chosing someone actually qualified for the job.

I would be really ticked if Lane went to Ole Piss. The people on the Memphis board are more delusional than Arkansas fans. One poster said that Jerry Jones was going to grab the OU coach and that Norvell would end up at OU. Maybe? But it seems to me that if Arkansas is still in the hunt for MN that Jones would be smart enough to wait until they have him wrapped up before Jerry makes filling our position even more difficult... But who knows.

Several have said that Norvell is out for us. IDK. If that's true we really need to get Lane. With the exception of Rhule I don't care for the rest of the field.

Norvell is in a metro area in a shite conference. I don't get the hype. He just kept the progam going. Leach's football scheme is outdated. Kiffen makes the most sense, and is a big name like it or not. I'd rather have Lane than Norv.

Yeah with MN I worry about the level of comp in that very weak conf. At least Lane has experience in bigger situations and likely has much better connections. Lanes promiscuity aside. He would be the safer bet.

Kiffin's record as a HC is underwhelming.

I don't understand why so many people are high on him.

It's just name recognition for most people.

I wanted Norvell last time, and most retardeds had never even heard of him at the time. Norvell's potential and upside is bigger.

Kiffin is a known entity.

I agree, but keeping a program going I better than nothing. When you're 11–1 on the fourth year, no one can say it's rhe precious dude's guys anymore. That's my knock on people like Huepel and Drinkwitz.

I can agree that people want Kiffin on name recognition. But FAU was stupendously bad before he got there, so he's somewhat proven himself. Ive been rooting for Bill Clark, but I need to accept its never going to happen.

24-13 at FAU. So he wins 2/3 of his games in a crappy league.

36-21 in P5. Canned at USC and left Tennessee in a bad way.

MFers acting like he's the second coming of Pete Carroll.
