This. There’s plenty of legit reasons for fans to be pissed about yesterday’s game regardless of how good of a coach Petrino is. We had three turnovers (4 if you count 4th and 9). And we couldn’t tackle anything. I will say that those dogging in Pool should probably lay off as that’s the worst game I’ve ever seen him play and he either wasn’t 100% and/or just couldn’t handle spying their quicker qb. The turnovers are what really made this game bad though. I wasn’t impressed with how much it seemed like we overlooked this one and should have known to expect a pumped up Petrino team who’d just watched App. State take down aTm at home the week before.

The plays were the same ones ran here at Arkansas. Those plays were always open

Arkansas moved up in Coaches Poll to #10 and remained at #10 in the AP.

Most realize this game was a trap game of trap games.

Or it's just further proof that most AP voters only look at final scores/watch the big games

Poor tackling, turnovers, and penalties hurt us yesterday.

We eventually shook it off and the better team gutted one out. Petrino definitely outcoached Sam yesterday.

The positives we can take away is that our secondary won't be exposed to a more complicated passing offense this season. They will learn from that. Our team never quit. It would have been easy for them to fold, but they never did. Rocket is earning that #5 and carrying this team. Drew Sanders is one of the best players we've had on defense in years.

Team has plenty to work on to get better, but we can get better this week being 3-0.

I think some fans didn't like Petrino and wanted Arkansas to roll him over. But when you're getting an arse beating from a coach that embarrassed the school and the state that will upset fans. Then it is an FCS program and you got beer mixed then angry fans start complaining believing they were watching a Chad Morris game for that moment.

I think this game rattled Sam a bit because he talked like he lost the game and he didn't want to be the person sitting in this seat if they lost. I don't blame him because the media made Sam as the savior who is building from the mess from the villain Petrino. It wouldn't be good at all if our hero lost to the hated Petrino. I think this was the most important game this year for him.

Yes. It is nice having a team with a “no quit” mentality. Maybe it’s nothing. But this type W can sometimes be a blessing in disguise for a team like us. We’re going to come out pissed but humble next Saturday. Hopefully the game prep and focus is there because aTm is a game we need to find a way to win.

I was with my dad at the 10 minute mark in the fourth quarter, 27-17. He told me that he couldn't take a loss like this. We agreed to leave because I wasn't going to watch Missouri State storm the field and lift Petrino in the air as some type redemption story.

The football team, fans and the program don't deserve a loss to that prick.

Disagree.

In the cold light of sober day, I’m sure Pittman would even admit that they overlooked this game and we’re looking ahead to A&M and didn’t prepare accordingly, as evidenced both by how sloppily we played in the first half and by Pittman’s comments after the game about how they were outcoached.

I believe Missouri State came out fired up for Coach Petrino.

I also believe we overlooked them some.

But here's the thing ... in the past decade, that would have been an 11-point loss, rather than an 11-point win.

They outplayed us early. 17-0 is a testament to that. We didn't start waking up until the 2nd quarter..

I will admit, after they went up by two scores.. I still wasn't much concerned, but then they scored again... and Since I was doing the game thread, I put (Well Frick) in the time slot for the 3rd quarter. I was most definitely concerned.

But I also wasn't in shock. This is the reason I asked what i did in the "Has anyone watched Mizzou State" thread. We may forget how great of a offensive mastermind he is, because of how offensive of a person he has been. Dude is great at football... offensively at least.

Can you imagine what he could accomplish as OC here with a decent DC as well? Sweet dreams are made of these...

So you left and then Rocket hits the big TD to swing the momentum back to us for the rest of the game. Interesting.

He was asked a question if Arkansas overlooked them and he said no but didn't respect them if that makes sense.

This was an important victory for the Program.

1. Arkansas didn't lose and embarrassed themselves which hog fans had been familiar with for a decade.

2. Sam didn't need to be an offensive guru to beat Petrino but showed a lot of grit when it was 17-0 and the game going out of hand. Sam said he couldn't panic because if he did then the players would, see Chad Morris.

3. Arkansas gives Bobby his L and takes it back to Springfield. Sam prevented any type of revenge of any sort from Petrino but Arkansas countered with some revenge themselves the way he left Arkansas. No glory should be given to that a-hole, nope not in this game.

Yeah I just had bad memories from the last 10 years and I wasn't in the mood for another bad loss.

I wish Arkansas had the talent like Georgia where they could just run the ball and pound teams like Missouri State. But the running game struggled early in the game and we soon understood that we ain't Georgia.

I could see that Petrino was motivated in this game and I think he has a belief deep within himself that tells him that he didn't do anything wrong and Arkansas fired him for no reason. So he thinks I will get them back for that.

Petrinos biggest strength (pass offense) vs our biggest weakness (pass defense), then factor in our offense shooting ourselves in the foot many, many times is what caused that result Saturday.

Fumble
Fumble on the GL
Int that bounced off the receivers hands
Two critical dropped passes that stalled drives
Turnover on downs on what was (I hope) a miscommunication on the play call
