The one year we won I was present.
I'm making my return in a few weeks. Hogs by 90

Ag here (along with Old Sarge, who's probably hungover right now) ready to give in my level headed non-homer take.
Offense looked awesome last week. Weigman was throwing dimes across the field, the OL was doing fine (under Addazio as well!), the WR's were great, the RB's were good.
The one thing I was irked about especially with Jimbo's offense in these OOC games was that we'd take these dumbass penalties because we couldn't line up in time. We saw none of that on Saturday. Another thing was the holding calls from Jimbo's offense were practically non-existant. Practically all the retardability from Jimbo's offense were gone on Saturday. The way I see it: Jimbo's the CEO and Bobby is the OC
So far our offense looks really stout, but if we win against Miami, you know tArk is gonna drown in the kool-aid

TAMU looked really good IMO. It won’t be the defense that carries you but if you guys can just slow some teams down you’ll win a lot of games. Petrino is a mastermind

Petrino with talent is a lethal combo for sure. I know for a fact he has had the Arkansas game circled on his calendar. I got a sick feeling in my stomach when I heard he was going to be hired by the Ags.

which is really odd... If the dude has really changed and is no longer a complete and utter dooch... He should take one for the gipper, cause he owes us big time after screwing us in more ways than he did Jessica....

I wasn’t surprised that A&M looked good week 1 against New Mexico. The question is if they struggle against Miami, or auburn will jimbo pull a Houston dale nutt and snatch the reins back. If so that is when the shite show will commence

I think Jimbo will leave well enough alone. He has $$$$ outta the wazoo, and Petrino to take the heat/accolades to an extent.
We all know Petrino is a very good OC with the right talent. THose Warren boys made his mark for him at Arkansas. Will the talent keep coming when Petrino shows his dark side? Maybe, with Jimbo the HC.

Agree. I think Jimbo at this point will just kick back on the sidelines and let Petrino do his thing

No. He Petrino will destroy us, and maybe the next two games but those last 4 games, Jimbo will pull a Houston Nutt and take back the play calling and say I called that play brutha…

The good thing is if Booby P is successful he will be gone next year.

This is a good point. Florida may be after him

Really? Remember the "call" that screwed BP and Arkansas over... Yep, I member. Again, all of this seems a perfect Arkansas is screwed circle...
But we are overreacting a bit... don't ya think!?
How often would we play Florida in the new Texas/OU Sec? Asking for a friend.

The petrino guys are just as bad or worse than the gus guys.
Yes his offense was unstoppable, 15 years ago.
It isnt a lack of talent that causes their programs to crash and burn.

quote:I always figured it was generally agreed here that he would. Partially because A&M has been exceptionally bad on the offensive side of the ball lately.
It’s not that far fetched to think Petrino may make them better.
Expecting it to get worse from that with Petrino in a coordinator role is just wishful thinking, imo.

Uhh... Are you familiar with Petrino's history?
He may be a different man now, but this is exactly what he would've done pre-Dorrell

Because as much as this place talks sh!t about Hogville, 75% of the posters here act the same way and drink the Hog Kool Aid nonstop. Say something even remotely positive about another team and how good they may be (like my OP) or negative about the Hogs (which I didn’t) and they get their panties in a twist.
I’m not trying to pick a fight but if I had to guess it’s because you’re basically always negative. You remind me a lot of this guy from way back on the ESPN boards named Zeke. By no means am I saying you need to change, you do you, but just calling it now I see it.
And no I’m not a koolaid drinker, I’m more of a what’s going to happen will happen and life goes on in regards to Arkansas sports especially football. I guess I’ve been burned by the boiling koolaid in the past too many times.

Thats fair and I appreciate the perspective. Essentially, all I was saying was that TAMU offense looked good and made impressive plays in the passing game, much like one would expect from a Petrino led offense.
As far as my negativity, I didnt say we would lose to them. Just that I was impressed with how good they looked. I just expect that game to be close (as it always is) and that we will probably need some lucky bounces to pull off that win.
In other news, Florida looks like a very winnable game right now, so that offsets the TAMU game for me.

CFB Fanatic...
This place in no way, shape, or form is like Ville... Man, you seemed a bit outta sorts with that comparison.
But as you said below... If it has been a close game the past few years... In time, Petrino will have it less close if he and Jimbo can get along.
Dude is a great OC... Still. I don't worship the dude, and wanted him gone. But call a spade a spade.

The bad thing, is he will go to Florida and get it rolling and rape us because the SEC will change the rotations to where we play Florida for the next 4 years until Bobby burns out.
