The key is hiding the hook, and start a thread that has nothing to do about arkansas. something like "Would Saban have had the same success at LSU had he stayed, and then talk about how historically LSU was a second tier program and doesn't have the prestige of alabama and wouldn't have managed what he's done there, also don't put all your bait in the title or original post, tease it out like you are actually discussing something. BAM 20 pages of pissed off LSU fans. You kids today need proper coaching.

Just depends on what type of troll you want to work, really. Do you want to be a shite-poster or a shite-stirrer? One requires effort, the other is cheeky and requires minimal effort.
Personally, I put just about zero effort into anything on this site because talking sports is something I only do when I have time to pass. I don't want to spend my free time doing things that require effort. Like, I'll never look up stats or some shite like that to smack talk another team. Because 1), it's fricking boring and 2), we aren't really in a position to argue from a statistical standpoint.
But hey, it takes all kinds.

Now this is more my speed. I've found that you can generate a lot of posts in quick order if you make something exceptionally stupid by design. Especially if you make it funny. In fact, it doesn't really work if the post isn't funny. But if you make something that you can make people laugh at and generate enough feedback that your target audience can't help but notice it because it's at the top of the page for about 10 minutes, they will flood the thread to shout you down.
That kind of shite makes me laugh. Which makes my free time on this site much more enjoyable. Hell, by now I figure most have caught on to what I do and play along simply because it's what we do.

I enjoy helping them build themselves up for the inevitable melts when they do lose. They are so full of pride for their program (this is actually due to their numbers on the site, it just comes across this way to us) that they'll responsd to damn near anything posted about them. Hit them when they're winning and they all bow out their chests and turn tRant into a mini version of their home board (cuz muh pride), and when it all falls apart in October they are compelled to share their thoughts with the rest of us. Where the other type of trolls (the effort givers) clean up and get them banned.

Good point. And all the while I'm still trying to figure a way that I can wordsmith my way into getting like half them motherfrickers to lose a ban bet and leave the board in mass. (Just for a time. I don't want the site to lose traffic or anything)
This is why I should have went to law school. Not to argue law or write it or teach it or whatever, but to figure a way to publicly humiliate LSU, Alabama, and Texas A&M by making a good percentage of their posters be forced to sign out for 6 hours because they failed to read my thread carefully.
