Football was my favorite sport as a child, it was my favorite sport to play and it’s my favorite sport as an adult and I will never be able to be as excited about baseball or basketball as I am about football. I’m glad other programs are doing well but dammit I want a successful football program! We don’t have to compete for national championships but shite there’s no reason we should at least compete for a ny6 bowl every 3/4 years at least! This is fricking bullshite and just being better than chad morris(worst coach ever) isn’t enough to save your fricking job. frick this bullshite everybody needs to show massive improvement in the second half of the season

Probably. I didn’t think we’d win but injuries isn’t why we lost by 23. I thought we’d lose by 14 or less. This was unacceptable especially on the defensive end. Completely unacceptable. If I told you to be patient before today I’m sorry you were right this is horse shite

It is horseshite. There are better Pop Warner coaching staffs. We went cheap and tried to nickel and dime coaching candidates and instead of landing a Kiffin, Drink, Heupel. We get another fat, greasy, used car salesman. If I have to hear him say “whelp, it worked in practice” again, I might get season tickets to the ballet instead. These guys are paid way too much to be this unprepared and make such stupid decisions. It took them SIX games to realize that Max Fletcher can’t punt. They started Fortin over Hornsby. Then there’s the constant actual game mismanagement. Any of us who still work jobs would be fired if we performed like this. It’s bullshite and I’m not going to watch it and pump money toward it anymore. I can get down with basketball. Baseball is always fun but frustrating. This is just torture though. I feel like I just repeatedly drove hot nails into my tiny little pecker for an hour.

If I don’t laugh it off, I can’t be a true Hog football fan. This is what we do. I know we’ve had a few years in my 37 year lifespan that have not been filled with mishaps, letdowns and dipshitery. But for the most part it’s always been there. We DID used to win more and not lose to programs like Ms. State more than we beat them.

Exactly. I’m 26. The first 10 years I watched football we weren’t world beaters but at least under nutt and petrino we were consistent top 20 teams with an occasional great season. Similar from Iowa or Wisconsin maybe, but definitely a step above the Mississippi schools of the world. The past decade has been complete shite. And it’s not because we all of a sudden got worse players, no we get the same players we always do the difference is schools we used to beat the shite out of got way better coaches while we settled for what we the frick would take us for less money. fricking bullshite

I said before season. I don't really care about football because we just don't have the horses for it, but it's amazing what Muss and DVH have done in their respective sports, especially for recruiting.

Football is just a totally different animal. Pittman needs to go out and get recruiters for the defensive side. Odom, Bowman, and the DL Coach have got to go. I love Pitt, but HY needs to go out and get a guy like Muss for football, who just gets it.

Upvote. I just can’t believe how bad we are in terms of depth in year 3. That’s enough time(especially with the portal) to improve. Kiffin pretty much flipped his whole roster and is 6-0 and has recruits stolen out of his backyard on the reg and has to compete with another in-state SEC school and somehow he’s getting it done (so is state for that matter). I think our BOT all need to be told to shut the frick up or leave. If any of our rich-arse BOT actually made their own money and built their careers (as opposed to inheriting), it’s embarrassing that tank every fricking hire because they don’t just go get the truly best candidate. Sick of their excuses. We have WAY more money, draw, and resources than schools that are starting to lap us (the success increases in multiple other mens and women sports shows this). It’s a high-level problem as much as it is the current staff not getting the job done.

Hog hoops is always above all for me. Growing up to a natty changes you.

Plus I never get excited much for college football, zero parity and no chance of actually winning anything kills it for me.

Will be a lot better once the P5 break away and we start having a draft and contracts. NIL is a joke and will only make things worse in the meantime.

Ohhh Geeeze, Shut up!

you haven't lived through enough Hog fandom to bitch this much man!

I double your age and see this season for what it is. 6-7 wins. This game was a gimme to State period, I really believe Sam is trying to hold those injured for winnable games to keep some momentum going for the future.

He isn't a great coach to be sure... But he sure the heck is better than Bert, Chad, Smile, and is a less hypocritical nutt.

Bottom line is Arkansas produces plenty of D1 athletes in baseball and basketball but not football. Until this changes we will never be competitive in the SEC. Everyone always talks about "recruiting nationally" and "NIL changes everything" but with little exception the only schools winning championships are located in very fertile recruiting territory and we ain't there.

Arkansas always had to look at out of state for recruits. However much bigger brands like Bama get players from coast to coast.

Bama 42
Florida 20
Texas 13
Georgia 11
California 7
Maryland 5
Louisiana 4
South Carolina 4
Mississippi 3
Tennessee 3
Ohio 2
Illinois 2
Indiana 1
Utah 1
Michigan 1
New Jersey 1
Washington DC 1
Wisconsin 1
Australia 1

Arkansas

Arkansas 41
Texas 28
Georgia 11
Florida 7
Tennessee 6
Oklahoma 6
Missouri 2
Illinois 2
Wisconsin 1
Massachusetts 1
Mississippi 1
Louisiana 1
Wisconsin 1
Australia 1
Nebraska 1
South Carolina 1

i'm very excited about basketball season. we can actually compete for a championship there and long term our state is in a far better position talent wise to compete.

Football takes too many kids and isn't prioritized enough statewide to develop enough talent.
