If I remember he fired Dave Wommack after the 2004. The defense that year was a lot better than the defense this year. The problems were on offense but Nutt wasn't willing to give up his OC duties and hire one more competent. So he made Wommack the scapegoat.

the point is brother, Nutt ran the offense. Malzahn was one year in 06, and Lee was one year in 07. pretty sure

Wittke never ran the offense - ETA: Malzahn had the offense ripped away from him at halftime of the Alabama game, week four or five (something our "media" still never talks about, 16 years later. They won't tell you that because it interferes with the Mitch8-0 narrative, massaged to fit the GusGood narrative)

Of course Nutt didn't run the defensive side. John Thompson was before Reggie. I thought Wommack came later, don't care, I was talking offense

eta: I don't remember who ran the defense in 98 and 99

frickin Amos Alonzo Stagg or something "invented" the Wildhog

Nutt should have been fired after the 2003 season, but wasn't

I know, I'm not allowed to stick it to boosters on this delicate-feelings forum, but all that crap was Jim Lindsey's fault because he had kidnapped Broyles and had him locked in a secret dungeon feeding him through the food hole and letting him shower and dress up before press conferences, then back to the dungeon for old Frank

That's right. Me and Nutt and Lindsey are all on the same dementia wing and we play checkers every day at 4

Arkansas was leading at half of that game but lost 42-29 on multiple fumbles from Smith. Nutt threw him under the bus.
