I know our team has a mental break down from time to time

But undisciplined play and actions, in other words penalties, are absolutely crushing Louisville in their last "major" test of the year.

Instead of correcting your players on the sidelines, acting like a jackass to the officials for calling you on your transgressions isn't missed either.

This is the same Clemson team that struggled to beat a bad bad Auburn team. Whose rise in the rankings is because of blowing out a bad FSU team.

Oh and Utah couldn't get it done from just outside the goal line to beat Cal today either.

Sometimes its good to have an 11 am game to spend the rest of the day watching other "top" teams around the country and see that your areas of concern are not isolated to just your team, gives perspective.

And there is another of the 15 yard variety.

9 penalties for 94 yards in the first half.

Such discipline, I can only imagine how bad it would be if his players weren't so scared of him.

I will say I don't miss the stupid penalties that a Petrino team has. I am also not so impressed with his new found offense.

frick Bobby Petrino and frick these threads. We didn't fire him. He fired himself. Get over it. He recruited bad athletes that lost us games.

Just point them to his current recruiting class fill with sub 85 guys. He won't be around Louisville long.

Ol Bob is good for not winning those close ones in the last minute

So a 5 yard false start penalty pushes the team back and the play falls 2 yard short of a first down, 3 yards short of a win.

11 Penalties for 104 yard on the game.

This is how you lose games while causing 3 turnovers, penalties prevent Clemson from Clemsoning.

What? he always won the close ones here. It's a tough loss but this one is on that receiver. Wtf?

ETA: can't believe I'm defending Bobby lol

I can think of 4 games in his last two seasons he lost.

Alabama
Ohio St
Ole Miss
Florida

All with shots to win it

Huh?

Alabama? Yep we blew it.

Ohio State? Tough effort by our team to make it close but yea Mallett blew it

Ole Miss? That's an example of a close one that we pulled out.

Florida? Tough loss, but Tejada and the refs blew it. Not his last two either.

I can name just as many that we should have lost but won.

I also remember a close loss to a turrible Ms. State team, but if you blame Mallett for Ohio State then you would just blame Tejada.

The only thing that it brings up is the amount of close games that occurred when people bitch about Bert games always being close.

I blame Herndon for falling on the ball with no one in front of him

His first year here? When we needed the phenomenal freshman receivers and an outstanding performance by one of the Dick brothers to beat Western Illinois and ULM? Ok. C'mon I don't like Bobby but I can admit I always felt we were in the game if it was close when he was here.

It doesn't matter when.

Right now his team is one of the most penalized in the country on a game by game basis.

If you want to talk about the feelings, that is one thing, what I said was he was involved in more close games than many want to remember, many of which were against "far inferior" teams.

I've been hearing this gripe about Bert, its selective memory at best, Petrino Petrinoing should help knock of the nonsense.

Petrinoing - verb- climb high in the rankings at a rapid pace before losing the game(s) that matter.
