As long as he loads up his staff. He is very well respected in the profession so I believe he will have high quality coordinators.

Let’s hope he just doesn’t feed us that we are getting the best DC in the biz because I can’t handle anymore Chief.

I'd like to know if Morris actually thought he was getting Veneables. That was certainly implied.

I actually think the guy is so dumb he thought he hired the best.

It isn't like any of us a have a choice at this point, but we don't have to pretend HY managed the coaching search to appear to be run on a professional level instead of the complete shite show it was.

Has the contract been signed? So far every "insert name to Arkansas immanent" report has been followed by their hiring elsewhere.

He's a math guy, probably would have been a "good" engineer, you know the type that would jump over a pile of naked virgins to design something to frick a technician.

Couldn't possibly just be bad journalism... nah that never happens.

Given how atrocious our line play is he can probably get us back to respectability quicker than anyone. Got to figure he’ll quickly fix our line recruiting and will probably get several transfers.

I think it's just fine. The hire is absolutely a reflection of the program's status nationally. I most certainly am not going to parade around the rant talking about how good of a hire it is though.

Maybe not the coach we wanted but is certainly the on we deserve.

I'm OK with hiring Pittman for the same reasons.

Same here. I just want our AD to have some autonomy for once. If it can be proven (it can't) that Sam was close to the top of Hunter's list then I'll be happy.

I don't see the point of having an AD if he can't make his own decisions. Elect someone from the BOT or GOBN to be chancellor of athletics if that's the case.

But to reiterate - I fully support Pittman if he is hired.

Pittman could give us the chance to get max value out of KJ. Slightly above average OL play wouldve added 5+ wins the past 2 seasons.

Really interested to see how Pittman can recruit as HC.

Finding and/or teaching the center to snap the ball better than a granny shot might have added a win to each season.

I fully expect Pittman to get that problem fixed asap.

Of course I’ll back Pittman if hired but I’ve learned that we will not spend the money to get a big name. Really thought we would considering the current state of the program. Supposedly Leach/Campbell wanted $5-$6 million and we refused to go there.

Hell yeah, wish Big Sam all the best. Glad they hired someone that wants to be here,

If and when the Hogs win at minimum 3 SEC games during a single season I may even attend a game again. Don’t care who the coach is, they have to win a few games before I waste much time or cash with it.

This. You have to bring a competitive advantage to the table. Ours should have been money.

So, if this is true how is it Hunter's fault. How do we know he didn't want to offer more for Kiffin or even give Leach what he was asking for?

I think Sam will do a great job getting us respectable again. He can recruit and he understands line play which is still the most important aspect of the game imo.

If your o-line sucks then you can't run and your qb is limited to quick slants.

If your d-line sucks then you can't stop the run and you can't pressure the qb which makes your secondary look like shite.

According to who? The same sources that said kiffin was a done deal?
