We're 5th in the SEC in RPI, at #64 currently.

A #64 RPI with our SOS would get us dancing but we'll have to beat a good team, Florida, or Mizzou at home to get a quality win, maybe Kentucky if they've turned it around by then.

Also means we CAN'T lose at South Carolina or Vandy, tough task.

Highly unlikely it happens, but certainly still alive, unless we lose Saturday.

I think we'll beat USCe. They aren't talented, but they play some good D, but they tend to wear down in games, sorta like us last year.

I think we'll beat Mizzou at home also, Bud Walton will be LOUD.

You remember how you were screaming about some early games this year being the end of the season and all?

This USCe game tomorrow, is the turning point in the season. This game will be it. This is a pivotal game for any post season hopes other than NiT.

so other than our 3pt and rebounding we're top half of SEC in every category that's pretty good.

they've said this for the last few years and we've had teams in the final four every year.

The conference isn't great, but it isn't as bad as people are saying it is either.

There isn't a truly elite conference or team this year.

Probably so, Carolina is another scrappy team like Auburn, like Auburn, Martin has them playing tough and competing in games.

Casual fans are going to be back on the "we fricking suck" bandwagon win or lose as Martin is able to drag you into the mud and make the game a shitfest like he wants similar to Counzo at Tennessee, I fricking hate that style of basketball, Its OK I guess for a talent depleted team in years 1 and two but both of those guys build their programs for it, fricking sucks, glad we passed over both of them, Stan Heath is more entertaining and just as effective in terms of style of play and recruiting.

NIT or NCAA is a welcome change for the program, you have to remember there isn't a single player on the team who has played in a post season tournament, we have to start somewhere and consistently go to them if we ever want to get the program back to where it should be.

Might change when Bowers comes back.

As of right now, I think we split this year

I'm beginning to wonder if Heath = Pel = Anderson.

Few things have made me apathetic about a team as quickly as this team's performance on the road

Until Anderson gets more scorers, he may need to scrap the mass sub thing.

We were up 15-3 and then a timeout by SC. After that break, we had no scorers on the floor. I think it was Qualls, Clark, Haydar, Wade, Williams that started the skid. Wade can score, but he doesn't create his own shot and isn't a lane driver. Haydar can shoot, but he is like Wade in not driving the hole. It happened against State as well.

Once the snowball gets going down hill, it builds fast.

We may be a better team if Powell, Young are getting 33-35 min a game and not being pulled until the under 10 timeout.

If they both show up, we can compete and compete well, see Ole Miss.

When they don't we don't, see aTm with Powell, Carolina with Young.

The team needs a third and fourth option, it doesn't have it and no one is willing to step up outside of Haydar who isn't big enough and Bell who isn't there yet. The rest of the upper classmen are role players at best, we might have one step up a game here or there, but there isn't the third, forth, fifth option to help take the load off Young and Powell or pick up the slack when one has an off night that every real NCAA tournament team has...

People who thought or expected this team to be a NCAA tourney team were expecting this team to be perfect every game, basically.

I agree which scares me because, I am not sure those guys are Portis and Kingsley either.

Anderson inherited a difficult situation. He couldn't come in and send guys packing like what happened at Miss State because of our APR. I hate that. Dumbest rule the NCAA has IMO.

Yeah, Pel raped the APR pretty bad with his constant roster turnover.

Mike might not have a choice but to encourage a one or two of the younger guys to transfer and replace them with someone who provides more offensive production, then it is a waiting game with Wade and Scott, as I think we are too far along with them due to the APR, but maybe I'm wrong.

Harris will be huge next year, a lot will depend on if he pans out or not.

It was a huge catch 22 for Mike as we had no size, depth, shooters, scorers, or real experience when he took over. The only real positive was the recruiting class and that turned out to be BJ, Madden and Mickelson have proven to be long term projects who may be good players as juniors/senior or may not and Ross never made it to campus.

But everyone points to recruiting services and stars and pretend it was anything but a complete rebuild job and Pel would have somehow figured out how to coach a team had he been given one more year.
