He can score if the other team has inferior bigs and/or they don't double team him. If he gets double teamed he checks out. He totally gave up down the stretch today, on both ends of the floor.

I didn’t say different. The assertation that he has “checked out” it false considering the way that he played the two games prior to today. He was tripled then doubled on the last possession against Vandy and had the game winning assist.

He had no direct competition in those games. Look at games where there is a semi-decent big he is up against that bodies him up. When faced with someone who is his equal, he packs it in.

Foreign white dude from Ole Miss had his career day against Gafford and outplayed him.

He is lazy. Doesn’t care if he isn’t getting his and will inexplicably flop on defense at some of the worst times. He played less than 5 minutes in the first half today and was winded in the second half. That’s just pure laziness and selfishness.

He checks out of games but he hasn't checked out of the season. IMO he just gets too emotional during the game depending on how the game is going. Not unique to him but worst player for it to happen to on our team.

Once again, without him this team doesn’t sniff the NIT. I get pissed off at him too, but this team would completely suck without him.

The entire team is a disaster against solid defensive teams that force them to run a half court offense.

You don't even have to look at a team that good. Carvaco from Colorado state bodied his arse. Gafford was 5-12 from the field with 12 points with 9 rebounds. Carvaco finished with 12 points and 11 rebounds. They didn't even double him that game. Carvaco just owned him physically. Lottery pick btw.

He does it all the time. If adversity strikes, he can’t be counted on.

I can’t remember who it was against, but in the closing minutes he just flops and flounders in the ground like a baby turtle upside down.

He did it in the closing minutes of both the Texas and WKU losses. Chose to flop rather than play defense with less than 20 seconds left.

And if he brings it every night, this team has more wins.

He may want to be a “star player” but he doesn’t have the intestinal fortitude right now.

Daryl Macon and Barford wanted the ball in the closing minutes with the game on the line. Barford may have been a ball hog at moments, but dude went hard 100% of the time. Gafford May go hard 1/4 of his minutes played.

Yet no one can honestly dispute that this team would be garbage without him.

This is correct. A big dunk in a home game and he can find another gear. Miss some shots and turn the ball over on the road and suddenly he's flopping and hacking guys on purpose just to sit down.

They built up a 13 point lead today without him mostly.

Lost by 12 with him mostly.

That’s one game. What do you think their record would be if he was not on this team?

It is pretty safe to say that they would have zero conference wins

No clue, that’s all speculative.

I do like Chaney and the way he can manufacture for himself. Without Gafford we would have probably brought in another big as well. Not knowing who that would’ve been leaves it impossible to gauge what the record would be.

For what Mike wants, Chaney will end up being a better fit for this system than Gafford. Simply because he has game outside of 3 feet from the basket.

I wouldn’t count on it. He has zero committed for 2019 and everyone knows Gafford is likely gone.

No worries though, we have Ethan Henderson to fill the void next year.

We'll get plenty examples of that next year.

I’m not sure him being physically winded has anything to do with being lazy or selfish lol. I could work as hard as possible but I’d be exhausted 2 minutes in. Maybe he’s not working on his conditioning enough?

It’s weird to me because one of his strengths is his ability to run the floor but other times he looks like one of those Bozo the Clown punching bags
