LSU only beat us by 7 last year. The sky must be falling....
Dont forget we were a 2 win team that got beat by North Texas.
Much improvement shown today. Saw great passes and catches, Boyd 100+ yds, 3 interceptions, 5 sacks iirc (I think we had 10 last season). All this coming off a 2 win season, 2 new QBs who haven't been here a year, and a young team.
Hate Chad all you want, yall couldn't do better, and if you could, you wouldn't be keyboard warriors on a message board.
Guess you didn't see the other games today, or last week. Coming off a 2 win season yall sure have some high expectations.

We would've lost this game last year.
I'll admit I had some PTSD after PSU made that lucky touchdown and felt like we would end up letting it slip away. I'm glad I was wrong.
I did see some promising things out there today, a decent foundation to build on. The defense looked good when they needed to be, much improvement there. We need improvement from the QB play, probably just more experience under their belts, and we'll be a decent team.
I don't think we'll get blown out by anyone other than probably Bama, and if the QBs can pick it up we'll win some good games.

We have improved over last year.. but last year wasn't a real year.. that was dealing with Brett's old trash.
This year is basically year 1 for Morris and it's telling when we say no starters from last years 1st game started this game.
With that said, we are really.. really far away. We need some young kids to grow up really fast. I was shooting for 6 wins this year.. but now I don't think we win all of our non conference games.

How many passes were dropped today that should have been caught? if they were caught, would be feel differently about Hicks overall? just a thought.
We definitely look better on D, on Offense we were mediocre overall. Boyd a bright spot, as was a couple of our WR's. Oline is bad.
But overall I agree with Moment here.

We are going to need some work. The good news is that the bottom of the SEC is pretty rotten. With a bit of improvement in some key areas we can win a couple of conference games.

But Im sure that since Morris is twice the coach Bret is this will be easy for him to match, right? Or even be better.
So tell me, which bowl game are we going to this year? Who are our two conference wins?

The bad part is, we will get 4 wins and everyone will run around saying we "doubled our wins from last year". It should already be apparent that going cheap in our last coaching search is not going to be a long term solution, but we will give him four years and be looking again. As a program it would be better for us to lose the rest of our games and get a head start on the NEXT rebuild. frick Arkansas football.

No we didn't, we barely beat a 4-7 FCS team, what we saw yesterday was pathetic and Morris is in over his head. I hate saying it because I like Morris but he was a terrible hire and he is not a good head coach, he has done nothing but prove he has no idea what he is doing.
Blame it all on bert if you want but he made a bowl game his second year with the pile of shite that John L left. Morris needs to go and when he does we dont need to let fricking Jerry Jones anywhere near the hiring process.

This is exactly where I am with Morris. I like the guy, but he's not a good football coach. He's completely in over his head, not just in the SEC but in P5 football in general. But we're a bottom tier P5 football program so it makes sense that we'd hire someone like him.

True, and I say that as someone who loathed Bert by the end of 2016. He at least recruited an OL to help him get out of the godawful, shitty mess he stepped into, and we had an offensive identity.
This team has no identity whatsoever. The offense has no idea what they want to be when they grow up.

Don't disagree. I was more referring to how Bert was able to take a year two step forward in terms of recruiting and development focus on OL. Ironically it was also what precipitated his downfall.

That was more Sam Pittman IMO. OL recruiting/coaching went to hell when he left.

I'm not giving credit to Bert. Just pointing out how we were able to step forward in year 2.
Morris needs to get a semi-competent OC and OL coach. We're not getting out of the shitter with Craddock and Fry.
