I'm no Democrat, but I do believe the current mayor of Little Rock has done a good turnaround job on LR

***Never mind. dchog posted it.

Has he released the Pine Bluff episode? I've looked and haven't found it. Pretty sure he went to Pine Bluff before NWA.

He also said he was doing one for the deep ozarks.

I think it's funny reading some of the comments under the NWA one.

A great glimpse into how people are so irrational when they see an area with lower crime and big money.

"Hell Hole"
"Dystopian"
"15 minute city"

Heaven forbid there be a community that doesn't put up with the shite bigger cities often do.

Ignorance is bliss.

And I'm not saying Wal-Mart is some perfect entity. I've just lived here most of my life, and it's a blessing we call NWA home.

I love the yanks and weirdo Cali people that have bombarded that place. It's such a lovely experience. If you don't believe NWA is great, just ask a NWA person that loves living in yankeeville right here in Arkansas.

That place has changed immensely over the years. Not for the better.

Back in the mid nineties I did a small remodel on one of Alice's houses in Pinnacle.

She always came on Fridays drunk as shite with a brown paper bag full of hundo's.

I never complained, quite the lady.

I would say there are pro's and cons for sure.

Traffic has definitely gotten 10x worse.

Infrastructure hasn't been able to keep up. The easiest fix, while acknowledging the high cost, would be to build a east west loop around the metro. It would immediately free up city traffic.

I do appreciate all the new amenities that have been built.

And from a financial standpoint, the work in my industry has benefited.

All of that being said, this growth was inevitable. Walmart, Tyson, JB Hunt.. It is what they envisioned. And we all know they get what they want.

If they can keep the crime down, and get some federal funding to help with the infrastructure the area will continue to grow well past the 1million figure they've estimated in the next decade.

Give it time, just like any other place it will show the cons.

They can't get the state funding necessary to keep pace with infrastructure because Little Rock has a grudge against NWA.

That sounds horrible. I thought it was bad 15 years ago.

NWA: "We don't need the rest of the state!"

Also NWA: "They can't get the state funding necessary to keep pace with infrastructure because Little Rock has a grudge against NWA."

Somehow, this thread is going to devolve into a NWA vs LR or GSD thread.

I'm not from NWA but Little Rock is jealous of NWA since Little Rock was in the past where everything revolved around them.

Not anymore.

lol...it still does man. Personally, I'm glad NWA is booming, but Central Arkansas is, too.
