Using the term “retarded“ has triggered my emotions. Why would someone clearly as progressive and tolerant as you use such a bigoted, disable-phobic, discriminatory, intolerant, non-safe, esclusionary, non-healing word?? How, in this time of great hope, change, and social justice that EVERY citizen agrees with, can anyone use such a hurtful term? I cannot fathom how you can show yourself in public and not be overwhelmed with shame. I need a safe space for healing after reading such a bigoted term. I am shaken to the my tolerant, enlightened bones.
