DVH most likely has three more years, maybe less.

Just wait until he fricks up the baseball hire.

That is pretty much what I am thinking as well. HY is the real issue. A ton of misplaced anger towards Silverfield which he doesn't exactly deserve. Is he the hire that most wanted.....absolutely not. But HY fumbled this hire from the start.

Most everyone had far greater expectations than Silverfield. Considering the time HY had to make the hire along with the overall importance of this hire coming off of Morris and Pittman. Silverfield is just caught in the middle of HY's shitshow. This is no sunshine pumping from me or accepting mediocrity, but I am willing to give Silverfield a chance to prove everyone wrong. He has to absolutely kill it at the press conference on Thursday. That is the first step and he just has to get that right.

After the dust has settled, my love for the Razorbacks is still there. Yeah I get pissed off but I know I'll still watch every game and follow recruiting etc. This program is just too engrained in me to pull the plug, that isn't gonna happen. I can still follow the program and refuse to accept HY's dumb shite along along the way.

Sounds an awful lot like, he won’t be here past October, but if he is he definitely won’t be doing the hiring.

This is the whole thing. We shouldn't be competing with other jobs that opened up with such a head start. Get your guy locked down. That's the point of getting rid of Pittman early. It's like he sat on his hands the whole time.

If you were waiting to begin your search after you fired Pittman then that is total incompetence. Everyone could see the writing on the wall BUT Hunter.

100% agree with you. It is completely baffling that the BOT or whoever else is in charge can sign off on anything HY does. How the hell can everyone else see it but them?

Pittman was fired weeks ago and this is our choice... Nahh Man! It isn't His fault, but he could read the room a bit better. 6.7 million per year 5 years...

Sat on his hands?

I think he got continually rejected since the firing.

Not sure which is worse.

Coaches aren’t going to agree to be “locked down” way before knowing what other jobs are going to come open though. We could have had an agreement in principle with Golesh or whomever since September but the second Auburn came open he probably would have switched it up anyway. It’s pointless.

It's about HY. Silverfield is doing great on his first day so far. Flipping 3 in state kids, he's obviously aware of the fans wishes.

I think he can assemble a better team than people realize by focusing in state. Focus on kids to play in college. Many great college players that don't translate to NFL. Find them. The bigger schools always over look them. Get ball players. You can't teach toughness and instincts. You can add weight and maximize speed and quickness. Go get the tweeners and build/coach them up.

This is key. But whomever you do lock down, you need to time the announcement and act as though that was the guy you wanted all along, not the one you settled for, like my 2nd wife did.

I’m not sold on Silverfield, but I think most the people focusing their hate on him, should be putting it where it belongs, directly on Hunter.
Hunter is public enemy number one, but I don't think it's shocking to have major reservations over a coach that went 27-21 in the AAC prior to taking an SEC job.

But all of this is moot at this point. All I want to see is the same level of criticism levied against Silverfield next year. No excuses.

When his team finishes the season next year with a -11 turnover ratio, you can bet your arse that I'll criticize him just as much and probably more.

Except turnover ratio is both an offensive and defensive stat combined. Just more proof you were never judging based on only the side of the ball Petrino actually coached. We turned the ball over less this year than we did the year we played in a BCS bowl.

We also blew most of our NIL load on offense. Begs the question, how well would offense look with less talent?

No we didn’t actually. Offense was full of G5 and FCS transfers, defense had actual P4 transfers and got more money. That’s why it’s so crazy they were so bad.

Where is that coming from then? I've been seeing that all year. Also, what is the breakdown?

I’d probably say 60/40. Would be bigger if we weren’t paying TG like 1.5M
