Does anybody think we've run a limited playbook to this point?

I saw this brought up in another thread on tRant and it may have just been somebody shite-talking Aggies. Do any of you think we've held back facets to our run game at this point?

Not sure really. We might have had to open it up a little for TCU, one would think.

There will be wrinkles every week based off of game planning but I'm sure they're running the bread and butter plays at this point.

Punt and Field Goal fakes are on the menu now that we're in league play :)

Unlikely, but I could see a package with Scoota or Duwop taking the wildcat snap with Hammonds in motion.

Don't you tease Jon Ham. Don't you do it.

I think we opened it up against TCU. Still think we could see some new stuff like a possible gadget play or two against Aggy.

We look pretty basic in the run game so far...I'm going to bet we see that pitch play we typically run with Walker to Whaley this week...takin it to the house yo

No. Getting the execution down is more important than trying to fool other teams.

What do you think about our pass game? Does it seem to you that we don't really have a lot of progressions? During the TCU game it looked like we had a receiver already selected, and if he wasn't open, than we didn't even try other options.
This is austin, not the play book. He still is brandon circa 2014, just with way better weapons.

So a redshirt junior who has spent two-years under the same offensive coordinator is not capable or comfortable checking down receivers?
he didn't get a majority of the snaps in practices prior to this year and has very little game experience, so i would say it's possible, yeah.

I think we still have some looks up our sleeve. Remember we were in control for most of the TCU game just running our basic stuff.

I just hope we don't run that naked bootleg towards Miles Garrets side. I don't think he would fall for it.

The leash on Allen will get longer and longer. If you watch the TCU game, we had guys running free on routes, on a lot of plays. He never made it to those routes in his progression because they had him hitting the shorter routes if they were open. That will change, if it hasn't already, as he gets more comfortable and the O-Line gels to give him more time in the pocket.
