LINKSays Razorback Nation will be electric on Saturday only because Kentucky is coming to town. As if we didn't have over 19,000 against A&M 2 weeks ago, and the next 3 Saturday games have been sold out since December. What a joke he has become.

Normally I roll my eyes at some of the hate Dickie V gets regarding his love for Kentucky and other blue bloods (although I still hate his commentary).
That being said, that was a really dismissive and ignorant statement by him. It doesn't take much research to show by his statement doesn't make much sense. By his tweet you would think we were some mid-tier SEC team historically, with an average attendance rate.

Oh exactly. The worst part is he doubled down on his horrible take. Like did none of his coworkers tell him "hey man you know the Razorbacks are sold out the next 3 home weekends after this game right?" It's unbelievable. The man is 80 and is a basketball fanatic so i have no idea where he gets this ridiculous idea that Razorback fans need Kentucky to bring a crowd. The Palace has more seats than 19 of the 30 NBA arenas and is the 5th largest on-campus stadium in the country. His take is absurd.

I don't give a shite about Dick Vitale but haven't we been talking about the Kentucky game for over a month now? Sure the fans are excited about the program and packing it out for other teams but they don't have the same feel as the Kentucky game. He's right even if it sounds shitty.

No he isn't. 19,200 was the attendance for our A&M. A sell out. It has nothing to do with Kentucky. Sure, it's great that a program like Kentucky is coming to town and it will be prime time basketball television with Dickie V in attendance, but this is a weekend game at a time when our team isn't losing. This game would be sold out if it were any SEC team playing here tomorrow.

I don't think he's debating that it would be full. What he's saying is that the crowd will be particularity rowdy because Kentucky is in town. Which isn't totally inaccurate.

Yes but for the most part it is because its the first top 25 team coming into Bud. There would be a very similar hype if any SEC teams with that standard. Look back at the Tennessee game in 2018.

Agreed. Had he just said "You're right, the Hog faithful are gonna bring it on their own but it will be just a little bit extra juiced up for Kentucky this Saturday" no one would have a problem because it's pretty much true. They're the biggest team we'll play at home all year, and some sell out crowds are better than others, but he had to say "it's because of BBN Bud Walton will be rocking on Saturday" which is ridiculous and false. The Bud will be rocking cause this is one of the most dedicated fanbases in the country and we're 14-2 BABY!!!

The crowd is more excited about Kentucky than A&M it's not even debatable. Nobody has been talking about any game like they have the Kentucky game.

I think the issue is more that he implied in the original tweet that it WOULDN'T be that way if it wasn't for Kentucky. Like we are some rent a win that should be thankful BBN has graced us with their presence. frick Kentucky, frick Dicky V., frick Ashley Judd, frick Calipari. Mason Jones is gonna drag his nutsack all over those blue blood motherfrickers and talk huge trash the whole damn time.
