Like I said, if he embraces the NIL era it’s about as big of a hire you can make. I would think they wouldn’t go that direction without getting those assurances.

Sounds about right, considering Yurachek is making the hire. An AD that has been very vocal against NIL from day one hiring a coach that is also against NIL.

Only reason Dabo was against NIL is cause they had the market cornered, along with Bama, before it was legal

But not adapting to the portal is just coaching suicide at this point. No one is going to wait 4 years for you to build a program via HS recruiting

Dabo literally just said this week: "til graduation do us part"

He's an idiot whose stuck in 2015 CFB and totally QB and Coordinator dependent. He's basically a more competent version of Sam at this point.

Made his bones on recruiting, CEOing, and having 1st Rd QBs. He'd be an absolute disaster here unless he pivoted greatly.

And the older you get, the the less you want to change.

For me it's

1. Mullen
2. Dabo
3. BMFP
4. Join the SWAC
5. Campbell
6. Morris
7. Golesh
8. Tear down the stadium to expand parking for BWA
9. Silverfield

I completely agree. Dabo would be Belichek level bad here, IMHO.

Guess you're one of the prisoners of the moment.

top 3 options built programs at Miss State, Clemson, and... Arkansas.
2 that were in very similar situations to us, one that was literally us.

Some want to write these guys off because of recent losing seasons, in favor of total unknowns because they haven't had the opportunity to fail yet.

Crazy comparison.

One was 73 years old, never coached a game in college.

The other is 56, has won national championships, and is one year removed from a CFP appearance

With a week left who I’d want of people mentioned:

1. DaBo IF he agrees to utilize portal
2. Campbell
3. Dilly
4. Golesh
5. Morris or kliff

Do not want Gruden or silverfield.

Who if I had to put money on will get it. Morris.

Would have to be a Lincoln Riley or something like that if all this shite is being thrown at the media. Not saying it's him, obviously, but Riley absolutely knows how to move in silence. The USC thing was out of nowhere and it never got out. Everyone thought he was USC bound.

Add that to what Josh Pate said 2-3 weeks ago. Just said to watch out for Riley. Also moved back to virtually the same footprint as he had at OU, bot recruiting, cultural, and living wise.

That's about the only plausible type of name to be throwing names like Dabo, Ed O, Gus, etc.

Not at all. I just think there are younger options with higher upside potential, with floors similar to Mullen and Petrino. Dabo has already won a title. Skeptical a guy like him still has the fire when he’s been so vocal about not liking the current state of CFB.

Ole Miss probably has a contract with Sumrall's name on it already. They'd fight it out with Auburn for him I'd bet.

If Auburn doesn’t have that signed and sealed already, they’ve really fricked up.
