If it's Frankin does he ask for another 50 million buyout in his contract? I don't see why he wouldn't.

The out of the box hire I'd look at is Mike McDaniel for the Dolphins. Miami is going to let him go at the end of the year. Hes young and innovative. I think he'd be a better college coach than pro.

I'd had this thought. Not saying he'd be good, bad, or interested. But I've always thought he seemed more suited to college.

Lots and lots of smoke around Franklin being the guy.

So I feel 100% confident in saying that it will not be Franklin

That was just a fully guaranteed contract, with offsets… if he gets another job. So why are we offering him $10m a year? Why are we letting Penn State off the hook? Give him 7ish, with a major retention or win bonus. You win 70% of your games and go 50/50 in top 10 games you get $15m after 5 years.

Whatever it takes to get money involved. If we’re being honest there’s not any coaching savant up for grabs that I see, other than maybe lane and we aren’t getting him. There’s a lot of good, not great coaches available, and the deciding factor should be who opens up the pocketbook from the boosters. You’d be amazed how good of a coach someone becomes if we put a top 15 talent roster on the field with them. And the only way to get talent now is money.

You think 7M gets James Franklin with a full rebuild on his plate?

Pittman was making 6.8.

This kind of shite is why we didn’t get kiffin.

no, he is saying to give 7... force penn state to pay the rest with a bonus paid after a % of wins/longevity etc that more than makes up for it.

With the ego of Franklin, won't work most likely. Although Coach Cal is getting a 10 Mill bonus for 5 years at Arkansas when it happens.

hmmm

There’s literally zero chance he would ever take that.

Glad someone got it.

What about Luke Fickel. He isn’t doing well right now, but had Cincinnati in the play offs.

He tried to turn Bert style bully ball into a spread. Wisconsin wants him gone. Probably get him cheaper. We are more built to run spread obviously with Bobby already being here.

What optics? He is a fired coach. He is going to take a discount. He isn’t a $10m a year coach, right now. He is going to get 7-8… from someone..
