The out of the box hire I'd look at is Mike McDaniel for the Dolphins. Miami is going to let him go at the end of the year. Hes young and innovative. I think he'd be a better college coach than pro.

Seriously good with either.

Morris at North Texas also. Traylor as well. Plenty of options and so many ways to not mess this up.....

such confidence that HY will find the one way TO mess this up.

I don’t think McDaniel wants anything to do with. College ball but I’d take him in a heartbeat

What do you like about him? For one, the last name Morris should not be anywhere near the program for the foreseeable future. But second, in 7 seasons as a head coach he has 4 seasons of .500 ball or less. So only 3 winning seasons. Overall coaching record of 43-33.

If Franklin is a no I’d be down with Alex Golesh too. Offensive guy only getting paid 2.5 mill etc. Don’t slide back and get a gundy or jimbo or gus. I’ve been watched less Arkansas football this year than ever and turned down tickets. If any of those three are hired I might be out for good. Lots of good options out there even with all the openings. Hoping the donors are actually ready to play ball.

Also with Rhule signing the new contract with Nebraska, I would lean towards Penn State looking really hard at Bob Chesney. He is a Pennsylvania guy born and raised and also graduated in state from Dickinson.

Stillwater is looking towards GJ Kinne (though he and his team have kind of hit the skids lately), and former QB Zac Robinson who is the OC at the Falcons currently.

Tyson wants Franklin.

Odom is trying to get involved but nobody is biting

Fleck is interested but not sure if it’s genuine or he just wants a raise

There’s two guys as sitting HC in P4 that are not content with their situations that we are monitoring and have engaged with.

I’m sure there’s plenty of losers who’d love to be thrown a lifeline.

I hear Cal made the call to Mark Stoops to bury the hatchet and tell him how much he loves Arkansas.

As Franklin's DC? I'd be OK with that.

Norvell prob wants a parachute? Dillingham has been thrown out but that surely is a play for more money he’s from there.

I think Morris is trending up. Lot's of P4 programs showing interest...

but yeah I have trama with the last name alone.

I'm currently here:
1. Franklin
2. Traylor
3. Golesh
4. Chesney
5. Silverfield
6. Morris
7. Dabo (Figured I'd say it because I think there's some smoke there at least)

That's my list and there's no fact or inside info there at all.

I'm still thinking it's gonna be somebody not currently on the radar.

Would we want Dabo? He would be another ceo coach.

Let me preface this by saying either one is like <1% chance but both would require significant funding.

Franklin is the target.

I don't.... but it just sounds like some do... and he fits the rumor mill of sitting P4 coach in discord with current situation.

Three questions to ask about this coaching search, they are not names but areas of interest/concern

How solid does the new coach have to be in the North Texas recruiting area?

Would someone that is currently not in college position be considered, based on ability to sell to get future recruits to NFL?

Will the coach have to have a certain type of system to be put in place?
