So, what do y'all make of the fact that HY has been MIA on X since Thanksgiving and even missed his customary "Good Luck @RazorbackFB" post yesterday? A nothing burger? He's scrambling to find another candidate? He's buttoning up THE next coach? Has he been told to shutty after his 6/7 joke?

I think of okie state using basically no leverage to force Morris into making a decision while everyone in the SEC is waiting in Lane Kiffin to get the attention he needs before everyone can move one.

Hunter could have already done the same, if he's ok with Wommack or Odom worst case. Force Golesh to make a decision , force Summeral, Hire Morris, or settle for Wommack or Odom.

This should be settled today before Hunter goes for his other job in Dallas for half a week.

If Hunter can't pull off this hire with that big of a built-in advantage

Wouldn't surprise me if that's why he zeroed in on Golesh. Knew it would be a hire he couldn't fumble.

I don't want Golesh but I'm ready to go ahead and just get this locked up today. Better than ending up with a Wommack or Silverfield

My primary choice was Chesney out of JMU but UCLA seems to have the inside track on him. Not a horrible job, UCLA has the potential to be incredibly good.

Golesh I'll happily take if we can get him. He checks a lot of boxes for us.

My concern is, what if things fall apart and we get neither of them? Morris was a panic hire. Pittman seems more like a panic hire every day. Three panic hires in a row could put us in a hole for the rest of this decade.

Kinda where I am at as well.

I just wish we could generate enough investment to make a BIG hire for once.

Not saying that we didn't try and reach out to big names, but it feels that way.

Who exactly are these big names we should have reached out to with serious intent?

Sorry but you’re crazy to think we could reasonably do better than hire a Golesh, Wommack or Morris type in this cycle.

Just in case shite goes sideways, would yall approve of Wommack?

No. If Hunter can't land some of the names we've already mentioned then he has to either offer it to Bobby or go lock up Gruden. Neither hire would fool anyone as they could have been locked up weeks ago, but both would be a big splash(and most likely a spectacular failure), but at least we would get some positive attention for a little while.

Who would that even be?

Florida and Ole Miss will fight over a Tulane coach.

Auburn will be hiring from within.

LSU is poaching Kiffin.

Va Tech hired Franklin

Ok State hired from North Texas

Arkansas will be hiring from South Florida (we think)

UCLA will be hiring from James Madison

So what is a big name to you? Dabo? Who hasn’t really embraced NIL. Dillingham? Who hasn’t really done much outside of a season with a beast RB. Campbell? Who for his career has been pretty average (great for ISU).

Arkansas is hiring Silverfield.

Hunter literally dig through the trash to find the true Chad Morris hiding int plane sight just like everyone knew he would.
